Latest lounge postings, but of course it's working now.
I wasn't having a drug flashback. Honest.
(I usually hear distant strains of Hendrix tunes when that sort of thing is happening.)

Well, at least if the site goes all wonky in the next day or so, I'll know the reason.

I'm not sure whether this is the appropriate forum, but I thought I'd rather post this before this author's ratings are off to a *really* bad start. Both downloads seem to be broken so one should probably unpublish it until the issue is fixed:

This post[^] has turned gray with a single 1 vote on the C++ forum.

I should clarify: responses aren't greyed, but questions are.
Yes, it's a confusing inconsistent mess. It will be fixed.

What are you planning to change it to?

A bit further down the page there is one colored grey but it was a response to a response so to recap:
Questions are colored gray.
Response isn't.
Response to response is.
K got it now, so not a bug but by design then. (damn no bob stamp for this one )

This[^] user has been posting random messages, which looks to be spanish, in several forums. After doing a quick Google Translate they appear to be non-sense. Is this tolerated?

I second the blindingly annoying 300 smilies per post, and random Spanish gibberish (well not random, constructed sentences just poor grammar). At first I thought it was a bot..

|

I'd like to report this user[^] to be banned for his intolerable behavior on the C# board. He has been refusing to use Google, MSDN, or CP search, insists that someone gives him 'da codez' and worse yet has been continuously abusive towards almost all that replied to him, even after repeated warnings.
(Since this thread is on a similar topic and every post goes directly into the inbox of Chris, I haven't started another thread.)

I second that and now he's changed his name as well!
|

I'll second that aswell.
Further more his questions seem to lead up to a possible harmful program.
I think he try'd to explain himself here[^]
but I wasn't able to read it before it got removed (kind of want to now since my name is in the subject )

I submitted an article about a week ago but I can find a way to update it.
Are articles final or am I missing something?
|
|
|
|
|
Hi Tawani,
Now that your article has been edited by our editors, the only way to update it is to submit the updated source code and HTML to us. You can use the “Get Article’s HTML” from the link in the upper right hand corner of your article, and send both updated HTML and zipped sourced code to us at submit@codeproject.com.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the process.
Thanks,
Sean Ewington

0) There needs to be some sort of replacement message informing people of when a thread is moved, and where it is moved to.
1) I didn't post my Silverlight vs WPF thread in the silverlight forum because i didn't want half-baked responses from people that happily accept any and all sewage coming out of Redmond.

0) Like an automatic email?
1) This discussion was on Silverlight and was of a technical nature that, in my opinion, was valuable for those working with Silverlight. Hence it's best home is in the Silverlight forum.

Can't you rig up a "link" type of message that will take you to the moved message when you click on it? Seems better than having messages just disappear.
|
|
|
|
|
For a link message to work the original poster would have to be made aware of its existence, either by an email or by them trawling through the forum looking for the thread.
Once a message moves all replies to that message will include links back to the original message in the original forum, so any activity regarding the moved message will alert the poster to its new position.
If the member wishes to monitor the thread (eg new messages that are not direct replies) then that causes a problem, but a quick email would solve that.
Having link messages would not, IMO, help more than an email, but would be worse because they would just cause forum debris.
