I must have missed this - anyway, I'm more than happy to help if you need me.

Looks like you have a lot of interested people now.
Lesson 1: You want people to sign up for something: promise them a nice looking icon
Lesson 2: You want to reach as many people as possible: report it as a bug
Must admit was the first I heard of it as well.
I'd volunteer but I fear I'm not experienced enough to be a mentor (not yet anyway).

Hmmm.
Maybe I should post "Chris needs a new bike. Possibly a Look 596[^]" bug and then promise an icon of Bob on a bike to those who through whatever means possible (selling kidneys, extortion, rigging lotto draws) come through with the goods.

Would be cool to see that icon

Already starting the research on that one

Since being awarded the Associate status, I seem to have lost my MVP icon; and being as vain as I am I'd like it back please.

Also, there is no associate entry on the membership types page[^] BTW.
(I had a quick look to see what this accolade is all about!)

Why not run it through something like Paint.NET? I did and got a transparent backgrounded PNG with no problems.

Hi Pete
I'm currently running it through Photoshop - guess pretty much every one who owns a blog with background other than white will have to run through this task - so why not offer a proper logo in the first place?
It's not a critical thing, but still, it takes time and is causes a loss of quality as the logo has nicely blurred edges. And as a spoiled WPF guy, I sure do like my stuff pretty
Cheers,
Philipp

Hi,
I'm embarassed to say this : I've just spent fifteen minutes combing through My Profile, My CodeProject, and My Settings and can't find where you can enable or disable the option of the "e-mail" link appearing in messages you post.
thanks, Bill
"Many : not conversant with mathematical studies, imagine that because it [the Analytical Engine] is to give results in numerical notation, its processes must consequently be arithmetical, numerical, rather than algebraical and analytical. This is an error. The engine can arrange and combine numerical quantities as if they were letters or any other general symbols; and it fact it might bring out its results in algebraical notation, were provisions made accordingly." IIRC the software just remembers the last checked value.
Edit: Confirmed. I unchecked before posting the original message and it remained unchecked the next time I hit reply.

Changing the value during an edit of an existing message doesn't save the change. Is this a bug?

No, it's by design. The settings are saved only for new postings.

Why?
It's contrary to how I expected it to work.

Because it seemed to be confusing to some people that when they went back and changed a seetting on an old message, it would update settings for new users.
I'm happy to change it so it updates regardless of new/edit.
