It's top secret, and unlike other company's / government institutions Chris has found a way to keep it secret 
|

Syntax coloring works great on PRE blocks (barring some outstanding wishes concerning LANG).
It seems to do the same job on CODE blocks (example[^]), which IMO is not a good idea:
1. the contrast with the background is quite different, I for one find it much harder to read now things are colored
2. it seems to keep people away from using PRE blocks which is a pity.
I petition to disable syntax coloring in CODE blocks.
At the very least, make it LANG=NONE by default (CODE blocks, not PRE blocks!), on all forums, so people who really want it should say so explicitly.

They are mentioned in my sig, that should do it for now.
If people would post code in PRE tags and then look at it, while formatted, with indentation and all, quite a fraction of the questions here would be either unnecessary or get answered sooner and better.
