I'm 2 for 2 with it this morning in the lounge though...

I'm also getting that, I'm finding myself having to work instead of sit in the lounge.

Same here. CP also seems to be going at a snail's pace. It works if I click one of the links to messages in the Lounge on the front page though.

Thanks. I've noticed times when pages 2-N loaded but page 1 didn't but didn't think to try that...

Unfortunately it seems I can only get page 1 threads that way...

Same here. It's because somebody has posted a new thread, causing all of the recent threads to be on the first page.

Now that Google has the new programming language out called go, I think it would be great if you could add a new forum for discussion about go and programming in go. More information about go can be found at: http://golang.org/[^]

It will need to gain a bit of critical mass before CP jumps on the bandwagon. Just because somebody creates a language doesn't mean that we have to immediately go off half cocked and create a forum for it.
"WPF has many lovers. It's a veritable porn star!" - Josh Smith As Braveheart once said, "You can take our freedom but you'll never take our Hobnobs!" - Martin Hughes.

Google ain't your run-of-the-mill language creator.

They aren't, but it could still be this weeks fad of the moment.

Absolutely. But my gut instinct says that when it's Google, it may be worth a look.
The thing is, of course, I am here to witness that Chris has made it possible for the OP to set up a private forum focusing on Go. In Maunder's mansion, there are many houses.

would you like to program something in a language that is going to be in beta for a couple of years?

I only read code that is properly indented, and rendered in a non-proportional font; hint: use PRE tags in forum messages

Nawww, if we're talking pieces of Google, why don't you just sign over all that stock you bought at the IPO
By the way, I'll bet $5.00 to your favorite charity that Chrome ends up replacing FF as the #2 browser. But not for at least 2 years.

I have my doubts; if Go catches on and they provide the best implementation before MS launches its own Go dialect, yes maybe.

Go.Net? Go# ? or Go2 (After all, They haven't had a GoTo language in six years.)

Nope. it is bound to be called G#, as they'll never admit Go is any good. See how they treated Java.

But Java is no good. It's interpreted, like VB6

That is completely wrong. Most often Java gets compiled to "bytecode" which is very similar to "MSIL" or "IL"; also the Java language resembles C# a lot. Java uses a Virtual Machine, akin to the .NET one, the main difference being it was tailored for a single language. Basically MS "borrowed" all the good ideas from Java when designing .NET and C#, and added some. I think you knew all that already...
FYI: even VB6 gets compiled, its compiler/linker emits real EXE files.

I knew that, too. I used to write PDS7.1 files that compiled to real EXE files, too.

I just copied a post message URL from one browser to a second (where I wasn't logged in); got an access denied message; and when I tried to log in the loss of work messagebox was displayed.
