I just had a look into the VB.NET-forum: nearly every message on the first two pages had been voted 5. Somebody on a 5-voting-rampage? Testing a voting bot? Or just coincidence?

Maybe they were all just pleased with themselves.

I feel nothing. Maybe you have an old CRT screen and that's the static charge you feel there?

That is called a Basic Organizer. He even gets awarded some rep points for doing so!

What, one does get points for upvoting messages? I really should read the rep-faq. Again.

I now see Bugs/Sucks Organizers; this site is going downhill rapidly.

No, you don't get anything for down-voting. And I think that isn't fair.

You get 1 point for voting a message up OR down, and you can only get 25 points per day by doing that.
HOWEVER, your vote adds/subtracts rep points for the user that actually posted the message, and the number of points applied depends on your own reputation. For instance, if I vote a message/article/tip/blog a 5, it adds (I think) 40 points to that person's rep because I have a high reputation point value. Voting a 1 results in an equally dramatic reduction of points. I could vote someone back to the reputation stoneage if I wanted to.

Yeah, I remember last week's thread about this[^] from the Lounge.

No John, a down-voter does not earn rep points. It used to be so for a very short time, but that acted like an open invitation to uni-voters, so Chris modified it. The FAQ is correct on the subject: for every organizer source, it either says "up-vote" or "report", but not "down-vote".
My suggestion on the subject has been to indeed reward downvotes also, but only for sufficiently reputed voters. I want a scoring system to be as symmetrical as it can be.

In the Q&A section,
In the right hand side, it says: "Your status enables you to edit or delete this question".
But when I tried deleting this[^], I am given a message - You do not have sufficient rights to delete (or something similar).
The user created two posts for the same question. Here[^]!
[Update]
Seems someone has deleted the post. The first link is not valid now.

I've walked through it and I can't see any reason why this would be the case, unless someone deleted it while you were viewing, meaning you no longer had the ability to delete it.
If it happens again please let me know.

I don't think the post was already deleted when I was trying because it was a non-authorized error. Moreover after sometime when it was deleted, I got the error that post was already deleted (I had a window opened).
Anyways, I will inform if it happens again.
Thanks!

While writing my last article: Native WPF 4 PropertyGrid[^], I tried to specify the Workflow Foundation (WF) category, but I just found WCF and WPF. I also found AppFabric, which is not the same as WF.
Best regards,
Jaime.

Hello Chris,
I mean a different feature.
It is related to the "Article Tags" you define for an article: a bunch of checkboxes in 5 columns.
In the "Technology" column, there is WPF, WCF and AppFabric, but not WF.
Best regards,
Jaime.

Good catch.
It seems to be the same site; the home page is up-to-date, and article view counts for both URLs track each other. Did Chris take over DNS? is this a result of IPv4 running out of addresses?
To be continued, no doubt.

It's been around since 11th of Dec 09[^].
I don't reckon an official statement on this issue from a CP staff or Chris M until today .
