In the Lounge, the navigation bar on the LHS is just as always: "Announcements", "Forums", then "Topics".
If I click on the C# forum, it looses the Forums list and becomes just "Announcements" and "Topics"
Ditto SB&S, Soapbox, Back room,...

Something's changed. The front page no longer has the left-hand side Maunder toolbar (as it's popularly called)!

I fear it might be part of planned weirdness Chris was talking about here[^].

In the emails we receive when someone reply to one of our posts their message is not separated from their signature like it is on the forums (with a line).
It just gets confusing sometimes...

What mail client are you using? It could be the styles in the email are being stripped out.

Gmail
It looks formatted, there is also a line just before the "Note: This message has been sent from an unattended email box.", but there isn't anything between the message and the sig, not even a space.

I thought so.
Can you please forward me an email? chris at cp.com

The latest blog entry is from first of november?
Reading the blog faq it says that it polls the blogs a lot more frequently than that?

How is it possible to have 370 points and be a member for < 1 month and not have done anything on the site (at least that is what their profile says)?

You get 100 points for signing up then more for opting into newsletters, taking surveys, signing in etc.
Why has he been highlighted as a spammer though when he hasn't posted anything.

He posted some answers in a Q&A which were merely advertisements for some product. The posts have been deleted, but are still visible to CP staff and others.

Because it is a group not an individual.

A suggestion...
In QA, a question I was attempting to answer got pretty cluttered. I deleted a couple of my answers as well as a comment I posted. On each of the questions, there were a bunch of comments. Since the questions and comment belonged to me, I can still see them (I assume others cannot). It would be nice if there was a button or setting or something that allows me to hide all the stuff I deleted to I can see the question/answers as others would see it (and also so I don't need to see all that junk).

We had exactly this feature but removed it because we felt it cluttered the UI.
I wonder if that counts as irony?

That probably just means you should put it somewhere else in the UI. Perhaps next to each item, on the side panel on the page, or as a global setting (say, in "My Settings").

I would say so.

A suggestion...
I was just in the C# forum reading a question with a large block of text that used the CODE tag rather than the PRE tag. It would be nice if I could view the source text of that message, grab all the text, then paste it into a new message (and make some mods) and preview it so I can see the code as it should be. Since I can already do most of that, my suggestion is:
Add the ability to view the source text of a message in the forums. Like what we see when we edit one of our messages.
|
|
|
|
|
Basically what you're after is a non-HTML view of the code, right? What about a simple popup that shows the raw Text of the code in the PRE block?
