That would be a shame.

It is not the bricks or flowers .... it is all about the 'curiosity' to know.... about the person(s) 'who voted for me?!?!'

This other site I visit regularly recently went through a major change. Part of the site is that people leave comments on a photo, what they think about it etc. Next to each comment you can vote wether that comment was helpful or not. So like a rating system on comments. Before you could not see who voted for your comments, but now after the change you can see the list.
Most everyone predicted it would be a really bad idea, generate bad blood etc. Strangely though in practice people have been pretty rational about it. Sure there have been a few nuts who get all frothy at another person for voting them down, but thats life. All in all it has had a positive effect as now people vote properly, thinking before they do.

Couple of extensions:
1) Personal note to be added to 'My bookmarks' page to remind you why you bookmarked something.
2) Bookmarking of forum posts. It is pretty hard trying to find something and there are some quality posts.
Thanks!

Hey Chris,
I was just reading a few bloggs the other day and I thought it would be nice if people could view my personal forum as being a blog... As such, would it be unfeasible, for whatever reasons, to have rss feeds [or similar] from people's personal forums.
I think it'd be a nice idea, although, depending on it's usage, it could cause strain on the servers.

Hi,
this is an old problem and perhaps there is a solution. I did not find any yet.
When I print an article in a lot of articles the right side gets cut off, so the text is missing.
I see this in Opera and IE.
Printing in landscape format sometimes helps, but is anoying.
Any solution?
Thanks a million, Dieter

Did u print the article in the print version. It works fine there. or did u attempt to print the article straight as it is (There is a good chance to miss the right side of the screen)??

Hello,
Can you put "Goto Page No" option to navigate to a particular page / post; so that we can directly navigate to desired page / post. It takes long time to navigate for particular post especially when net speed is really bad like i have.
Do you all agree with this with my suggestion?
Best regards,
Vilas Shewale

But how do you know which page number to type in?
Forums are always been added to, so what was on page 2 gets moved to page 3 eventually, then page 4, then page 5 etc. etc.

You can easily estimate how many pages back. I've wanted this many times.

But how do you know which page number to type in?
If i have small idea that a particular post is after say 50 threads then i'll skip 2 pages after the current page. Right. Or if i know the last page searched for in last session, i can directly put the desired page number and can continue reading the posts after that. Right??? Instead of clicking Last and Prev again and again user can navigate throught pages easily by this option.
I would like to hear positive responce from you. Thank you.
Best regards,
Vilas Shewale

FYI Villy I am not an official Code Project employee, I just hang around here a lot and Chris lets me bug him on IM occasionaly. In other words the buck stops with Chris, all I can do is organise CPian disobedience marches and the like
I see your suggestion is liked by quite a few members. I still do not get the point of it though. Even on other forum systems that do have this functionality I have never used it. If other CPians though think it is useful and they will use it then great, more champagne for everyone.
Chris has plenty of improvements lined up for CP, each ordered by importance. Chris may or may not have put your suggestion on the list though I imagine if he has it is not near the top of that list. Also he would have responded (he does check this forum) if there was anything definite. What I am saying is be patient and that I have nothing to do with it really

This is a good suggestion Vilas. I've always wanted some means to skip 2-3 pages (even if the posts would keep moving a little depending on the activity at the moment).
