I also reported him, according to his profile, but I cannot find the original entry in the Spam forum that I responded to. The problem is that we generally accept the word of the person who posts the original report, but most of the time the offending message(s) is not viewable.

If you go through his history, whether articles or forum posts, he seems to be a very nice chap. I think he was unfairly removed over some possible misreporting.

This is a rather unprofessional workflow though. If he was using his real name, now he has a public profile on CP visible to current and future employers that lists him as a spammer (when he is not). This is also risky for CP because there might be someone unfairly removed who might sue CP for character defamation.

A couple of times recently I have received the email notification that someone replied to my comment. When I click the link, their message is not there. However, a few hours to a day later the message does show. I imagine this may be the SPAM filter/moderator queue holding it.
I realize it may mean a big change in code but it would be helpful to receive email notifications of replies to our comments after the spam filter/moderator queue has done its thing.
I don't have any specific examples, this just seems to be the likely cause of what's happening.

Yes, I am having a wonderful time as well with this CP system.
Last night I posted a message in reply to Mark in the SB1.0, the CP system decided that my post is to be "Not Publicly Visible". After some considerable while of inactivity (something like 20 minutes) by the CodeProject system, I decided to try to delete that posting and re-issue that posting. NOT the first time this has happened, as Maunder knows only too well - there is email correspondence with him that exists.
The next thing is I get an email from CodeProject telling me that my account is closed accusing me and labelling me a SPAMMER. I looked at my CP profile page and saw that @PIEBALDconsult had marked the account as a SPAMMER.
Frankly I am NOT amused and greatly offended.
I fired off an email to our dear leader - @chris-maunder - copied to SB1.0 Administrator - @Gary-Kirkham - thus far I have not had a reply from either - too soon to expect a reply I suspect.
I will not be re-applying to join SB1.0 with this account but I will await Maunder to re-open my account that was shut. If Maunder won't re-open that account, then my days of enjoyment with CodeProject will be at an end.

I have seen quite a few people complain that the moderation queue is way too fatal. I'm guessing whatever your message was, piebaldConsult did not notice that it was in the Soapbox.

I am of the opinion that many of our CP Protectors have an itchy trigger finger. Of course I reserve the right to modify that statement if that proves to be incorrect.
There is nothing in my postings that should give CodeProject any concerns.

I was nearly awake at 4AM to answer this - but not quite.
There are two separate issues here.
- Our spam filter was twitchy after we moved hosting providers. We think it's well on its way to learning better manners. However, it's not our spam filter that marks people as spammers, it's people who mark people as spammers. Our spam filter merely acts as a safety mechanism to stop the spam attacks that were debilitating. However, if someone marks a pending post as spam then it's their call, and people do make honest mistakes.
- Our Protectors have the ability to close an account with one shot. We choose our protectors carefully and make it clear they need to be extremely careful. People make mistakes though.
I don't know whether PIEBALDconsult closed your account by marking your pending message as spam, or by voting you a spammer directly (I can check, but it's a moot point given that I've already approached him directly)
In the meantime your account as been re-instated.

That may or may not be the case.
I cannot sign in using (latest versions of) Firefox, Google Chrome, or Opera on my Win8.1 Desktop and I can't sign-in on my Android mobile smartphone with Firefox browser.

I think you got a few more problems ...
1. Mouse over my username for a previous posting, it states "No Active Code Project Member Found"
2. Clicking the message poster's link to an older posting takes me to a profile page with no history.
3. On that profile page, if you mouse-over the links on left (Members Profile, Messages posted, etc) it shows member No. 14596, click any of them ...
4. Profile page displayed is for a Brazilian Member No. Member 14596 with a user-id of @User-14418 That is not me, my member number is ... 1718109
So, problems not just not solved, but it looks to be a major headache for you ...

All but the first issue seem to be resolved, at least for me.
I suspect we have a caching issue causing the "No Active Code Project Member Found" to be displayed.
Chris has asked me to look into reduce the amount of destruction that results from rejecting a message in the Moderation Queue.

IF CP does manage to resolve the problems - yes - problems as in many, let me know. I'm not at all convinced that CP will be able to rectify these issues. But I suggest you and Chris Maunder read the postings below from myself and Gary, and consider incorporating them into a probable solution ...

The moderation queue has been flagging some odd stuff lately. I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but there were a couple yesterday that I decided to go the other way on to see how it goes. Apparently that was the wrong tack. I'll go back to only whacking the most egregious offenders.

Soapbox 1.0 is a private members forum. You, as you know are not a member of that fine "private members forum".
However, its only visibility to the outside world is "read only" for non-members, but that forum you would only find if you just happened to stumble over it (as in stubbing your toe) whilst hoovering behind the sofa. So really, there are not too many reasons for Site Protectors to moderate those messages destined for the private members forum at Soapbox 1.0, especially as the forum has its own Moderator / Administrator that can squash messages into oblivion, or to censor such messages if that is deemed appropriate.
As you will see from, other messages in this thread, I am still experiencing problems with the site. To me, CP appears to be messed-up and broken ...
Anyhow, thank you for being kind enough to explain what happened.

As the admin of that particular forum, SB1.0, I see no need to have outside moderation. If there is an issue with posting, I will deal with it appropriately. Is there a way to disable flagging for SB1.0 such that it doesn't enter the site moderation queue? This may be a question for Chris.

Still not working. I'm not at all convinced that CP can get my old account back. It's a ..... disaster (to put it politely).
Anyhow, with this new account I have clicked SB1.0 Join Now button, so, you should get a request from me when you go into SB1.0 account. With MultiFox (a Firefox extension) I will periodically test if CP has managed to solve the problem without having to log out of this new account.

Your account was reactivated, however your password may have been nuked (I'm not sure).
Try requesting a new password.
Also, try CTRL-F5 in your browser and/or delete the browser cache.

I did request a password reset earlier. but no email received from CP with temporary password, nothing received and nothing in the spam folder neither. But I will have another look [again] at ALL of my email accounts shortly. I will try to request a password reset again ...
