The Fantastic Four trailer was what came to my mind.

It's not that the colors are too bright, it is that there is no dark outline around it like the others.

I been surfing the net for past 1 hour, visited many sites and stuff but nothing is slower than CodeProject.
Agreed that you are working hard to put things together, but if the codeproject downloads slowly it means it is slow.
doubt:
Is it because of ASP server? i have seen couple of other ASP servers running slow like this even if few users are accessing it.

It's because we have over 1.5 million people a month and 60 million page views a month. We have new hardware on order and are rewriting as fast as we can but this time we will be spending more time testing and optimising since it's a fairly hefty piece of equipment we'll be installing.

If someone wants to rate one or two an article, then he/she must give comments on why he/she gave that rate. I`ve seen many people thinks his article is good, but gets a low rate. Besides that, we all want to learn from our mistakes. What do you think Chris?

This has been discussed many, many times in the past. Forcing a person to give a comment will simply mean we'll get junk comments.

You know that. I think what you typed should be made a real word. When someone wants to type gibberish (for instance to check if the keyboard is working) they always hit those keys
"One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a
certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how
many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my

If it isn't already on the list, please let us change a vote for a message or article later on to give the author a chance to make it better.

I posted a macro in this article...
http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/MakeRegion_Macro.asp
...and I got a lot of suggestions from readers, which has resulted in a much improved macro. Now I'd like to update the article to include the new stuff, but I don't have a link to modify the article since it went from "Unedited Reader Contributions" to a live status.
How do I modify my articles after they go "live" ?

Why nobody reads WHOLE submission guidelines?
[edit]did I get votes for this (yes, redundant, bt it's not the first time I saw this question) sentence? [/edit]

Oh please. Nobody ever reads *my* documentation either.
fwiw, it would be nice if an author could directly edit his text as he sees fit. I know you guys already have the machinery in place, because I could do it before the article was moved from "Unedited Reader Contributions".

Well I think this is so because you can write basically whatever you want in "Unedited Reader Contributions" URC (when you submit an article via Submission wizzard)... Articles outside URC should be censored (kid sister safe), formatted etc

When you submit an article via the wizard, there is a text-box where you can enter additional info for the editors where you can specify that you want the article to be left unedited until a certain date.
E.g. "Please leave this unedited until Jan 26 2005"

As I see you only have Windowze languages. Ie you only have Visual C++ and not ANSI/ISO C++. I'm runing Linux on y computer, and I will be happy to find stuff about ANSI/ISO C++, not Microsofts incompatible VS C++. (I dont hate MS, but I like to reed standard compilance guides, that work with my compiler, on my OS.)
But maby I'm way off on totaly wrong site. (plese suggest the right one then)
Wouldn't that be nice for you to have guides for not only Microsofts platforms if you call yourself a cross platform code project.

If you look at the page header on any of the articles[^], you'll see that CP is "Your Visual Studio.NET Homepage", not "Your ANSI/ISO C++ Homepage".
In all seriousness, I don't frequent any other developer sites besides this one. Perhaps you can try the forums at DevShed[^] or SitePoint[^]. If all else fails, try one of the C++ newsgroups.
Try your luck here. There are a lot of people who know quite a bit about ANSI/ISO C++.
