True. I think CP Team can consider creating a PHP forum.

Hi,
I would suggest if it is feasible, to have a vertical order logon in the side navigation for CodeProject rather than having at the top. By vertical order, I mean, username, password fields follow each other in next next lines rather than falling in the same line horizontally.
When we have a vertical order, we can control the 'Remember Me' checkbox by keyboard (TabIndex). This would also be in sync with most other logon screens.
Particularly, when we check and logon to CP from shared computers and Internet cafes, I think this should be very useful security measure.

That would require a complete site redesign.....

The Code Project has done it before. A while ago (can't remember when but in 2006), the site had a login on the left side of the screen.

We still have control over that check box . All it takes is the press of a tab button or a mouse click.

I had that problem on some terminals abroad - clear cookies helped.

It might be a cookie persisted or your web browser saves back cookie. Try after killing the cookie manually.

You can always clear you browser cookies. The Code project uses a cookie (assuming) to store you sign in preferences as well as the remember me feature.

Hi All,
Search Articles by Author.
If an article has an associated icon (for example new or updated), the icon displayed is "new", even for updated articles.
Alos, I'm not getting back full results (only 1 of 12 are returned).

Was it a page caching in effect?

Hi All,
I was wondering if it was possible to determine how many times an article's associated files were downloaded. Anyone know?

Have a "if you downloaded my files, click here for a free stock tip" button. That should get you some accurate results

Hi Brad,

I don't think it will be accurate - a user does not have to click it to download files on Code Project (I assume they will take the path of least resistance). They'll eat and run...

Well I guess you have two options, ask reeealy nicely or you could just stry host to the source on an external page and have the article link to it.

Hi Brad,
The Code Project servers don't track downloads? If not, the statistics can be pruned from the logs (I assume it is IIS).

I think it would be unwise in any web application to let anything touch log files.

I agree. How does Code Project currently handle Page Views? In my (somewhat ignorant) opinion, there is very little difference between serving up a Web Page, or serving up a Zip File.

Jeff,
Similar to RapidShare? But I think it would be resource-intensive right?

Maybe I'm being naive, but page views are already counted. What is the difference between counting the serving of a page (Page Views) or the serving of a zip file???
