Thanks for pointing this out!
A second, I was thinking of modifing it now.
But I keep it this way! It's my style!
All the best,
Martin

Hello,
1)
I was thinking of a possibility (or a must maybe) to give a comment on a vote.
This could prevent the useless lines on the forum like:
"Do not double post!"
"Don't ask for homework!"
"Have you googled?"
An other advantage is (if it is a must from lets say a vote from 1 to 3) that you get a feedback, why you got downvoted. (I see that very often that a question or even an answer got downvoted for no special reason. That sucks!)
There would be the question of anonymity, which should be answered from the CP members, in the forums I guess.
2)
I think a possibility to mark a question as "sufficient answered" would also be interesting.
This flag can only be set from the one who posted the question (of course).
Maybe a way to mark this line would be a modifide "?" symbol!
All the best,
Martin

Did you mean a textual comment on vote that is being applied to a message?

Repost x 1000.
Rejected every time on the assumption that the 1vote idiots would consistently enter "asdf" for the comment.

You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer

Not if it is not anonym any more!

But apart from that, I personally would know how serious this vote is.
And that's the main point for me. I would like to learn here on the forum, that's one reason why I'm answering questions here. If I make a silly answer and get a '1' vote for that I would like to know why. If there is a comment like you discriped, I don't give a .... on it!

you can argue with Chris when he's back from vacation but he's been remarkably unwilling to budge from his current position on the subject.

How about Tags/Labels like in BlogSpot for forum messages and articles in CP. That would mean more efficient searching right?
|
|
|
|
|
There used to be a "keywords" field in the Article Submission Wizard, but I think it has been removed. Not sure why.

While posting messages in CodeProject forums, there should be a provision to include new smileys also. New Instant Messengers have a lot of new Smileys and Emoticons right?
Any plans of updating CP Smiley list too?
|
|
|
|
|
Personally I'm always looking for CP smileys in MSN rather than the other way around, CPs smileys can provide a lot of emphasis on the main body of text, unlike the ones in (is it?) Live Messenger.

Hi All,
A minor bug... When one receives results from author search, New and Updated articles both use the 'new.gif' graphic.

Hello,
Don't you think it would be nice if you could see how many people have downloaded the source code and/or demo project that you have submitted?

It is my understanding that this is being developed as we speak

This would be a very valuable statistic for both the author (to appraise of his article) and CodeProject (for bandwidth calculations)

In Survey Text Answers, I would suggest the textbox be enabled with AutoSuggest. For simple reasons that a product might be duplicated in the text answers with various lexical permutations. For example, I might be typing Html-Kit. Another one might be typing HtmlKit and so on.

Yes Mr Vasudevan you are right. Because end user do not know what programmer thinks while coding, they just type in what they remember on first instance.

Yup. It is the application which has to be resilent to user inputs.
Tip: Did you type in a Wordprocessor and paste this comment? The font seems to be standing separately (Verdana right?)
|
|
|
|
|
Nop, i used normal reply, with <\BIG> Tags
No need to set it to Verdana the tag did all for me
|
|
|
|

Perhaps the BIG takes care of or the site stylesheet for BIG does the trick. It looks really pleasing and eye-friendly font.

The good thing of CodeProject editor is that when you paste an hyperlink it automatically pastes a 'New Window' link. But this feature seems to work only in MSIE in entirety. For Mozilla FireFox (at least in its 2.0.0.4 version), first I have to paste the link (appears as normal text). Then select it and click link icon to hyperlink it.
