Just a comment: the text in some articles wraps correctly when viewed using IE. In other articles, I have to expand the browser to occupy the entire desktop to keep from having to scroll left-right to read. Very inconvenient when trying to experiment with code in an article.
Not everyone has dual screens.

If an article scrolls too wide then report it as broken. All edited articles should fit within a page. Unedited articles - those submitted directly by members - may not. We'll fix them as soon as we're made aware of them.

Hi Chris or who ever is in charge!
I'm sorry for contacting you this way but I have a complaint:
How does this "article voting system" work? And what is even more important: What is it good for?
I mean: we don't get paid for writing articles and that's OK but I don't see why an author should get discredited by frustrated teens that give bad votes just for fun.
I'd suggest that negative votes must contain a reasonable explanation that states why the according article is "crap". Otherwise the author has no idea how he/she should improve his/her article and this leads to frustration!
And why are those votings anonymously? If someone thinks that my article is "poor" I'd like to know why!
Maybe you should reconsider that voting system!

Don't worry about the occassional idiot voter. If an article has merit, then others will vote higher when they read it.
We've had many discussions about the voting system, and people regularly suggest putting some mechanism in to get people to say why they downvote. The problem is that it is too easy for people just to put crap into the text with a low vote.

Will they? Since friday my article had 1,190 viewers but I only received three votes. Actually only two people decided to vote after I rated my own article on saturday.
Of course now you can say: maybe your article is crap.
Maybe it is, but I'll never know why.

A second typo is on the 3rd page of the submission page as well:
"If you wish to include links to files that you will upload in Step 4, then please note that they will be located in the codecave/ directory. This includes zips and image files. Thus if you intend to upload an image called "screenshot.gif", it will be locatated at codecave/screenshot.gif. You will need to use the following code to display this image in your HTML"

The dreaded 'One-Voter' should be at least kept off from 'Suggestions and Bug Reports' forum.
The birthday page is really good feature but will this be able to manage through the heavy user base now?

While not all members have listed their birthdays, for the current 4,439,957 members, that would mean a daily average of 12,132 pages to list them all. Even at 100 people a page, that's still 122 pages. While I agree it was a nice feature when we had it, considering the size of our community, it's probably not worthwhile keeping it.

The list could be filtered to only people who've posted a message or article in the past month. That would probably filter it down to a reasonable number. Assuming that doing so won't hammer the db ofc.

Or at least for the member celebrating his birthday either at logon or during posting a message a friendly 'Happy Birthday Greeting' can be added.
I admit that most of us never logout from CP. So the question, the logon event is raised for most of us once only the cookie expires or we explicitly reinstall the Internet Explorer.
Any clues for the problem I have raised in the second paragraph?

Probably, placing the 'The Code Project discussion boards ' over the left pane or right pane (or combination of both) can provide a familiar navigation(like Windows XP - Windows Explorer )

Truly lovely. That should provide a more visually compelling experience for the user and as well a lesser learning curve for newbies, thus minimizing the haphazard wrong forum-posts and cross (and multi) posts at least to a significant percentage.

I like it the way it is, it does not waste too much space on the horizontal scale,
allowing for a wide view of (articles and) discussion forums.
If it has to offer the suggested way, please make it user selectable.
One suggestion on the ordering and grouping of the discussion forums:
I would prefer them to be arranged more logically, something like
- programming topics

each of the languages (and please separate VB and VB.NET, and rename the two
C++ ones including the terms managed and unmanaged)

A slight page redesign may be needed to fit the elements into the screen real estate though. But I feel the effort would be worthy investigating considering the seamlessly familiar user experience and also the minimum learning curve involved for a newbie.
Weighing the pros of the proposal, I feel the suggestion to be an Active Contestant for the 'Feature Request' position. What do you say?

An error has occured on the Lounge page, ~11:30 BST. A post with several replies was just overwritten by a subsequent new message. Both from long time members so it is not apparently an attack of any kind. A little disconcerting though.
