CP never has done this.
Patrick Sears wrote: Or does it present the numbers again?
It's always told you that you have already voted. Putting in a lookup like this, for every post on the page, would add extra weight to an already beat up SQL Server. This means that the check has to be done at the time a vote is attempted.

I realize that. I could have sworn it did. Maybe I was dreaming :P

- make Visual display line numbers: Tools/Options/TextEditor/...
- show exceptions with ToString() to see all information
- before you ask a question here, search CodeProject, then Google

True. That was when you opted to Vote again. But I think his query was when the page loads itself, his prior vote information should also be displayed. Isn't it?

We should have a section for scripting languages, especially latest / greatest such as Ruby. The format of The Code Project is excellent and it would be great to see it extended.

petition MS (successfully) to add Ruby.net to VS08. CP is a MS centric site, until MS sells a ruby compiler it won't be supported here.

IronRuby is on the way, following in the footsteps of IronPython. These are both MS built. That should be enough reason, no?

Hello,
Seems the RSS feed only available for the lounge topics. It would be helpful if you could add RSS feeds for other forums as well.

Are you saying that someone have to press a button to send out the newsletters
|
|
|

I suspect that Chris and gang actually create / compile the newsletters and supply the witty remarks. A bit more than pressing a button.

ah that makes more sense, what the hell was I thinking...

Chris doesn't actually compile the newsletters. He just cracks the whip and the hamsters hop to it.

Now it is:
An error has occurred
ASP Engine error
The ASP engine on this server (IIS 5) is prone to crashing under high load.
No specific error has occurred - it's simply that the server has collapsed
and will be restarted within the minute by our health monitoring systems.
Please try again and you will hopefully be routed to a different, healthier server.

A reload should address this server error in most of the cases. It should also, as stated, would redirect you to a more powerful server in that context.
You can find the current server that is serving your request at the bottom of the page near Advertise and Privacy Policy link. Web12 indicated here, was the server serving the page for me.

Hi
Under the user information, my article count shows 3 but i have posted only 2.
When posting the second article, it threw up some error and the article submission failed. Then i tried again to submit the same, it went well. But the article count shows 3 instead of 2.
Who should I report this to fix ?
Thanks
