Can you please send me the email and/or let me know the article? The author may have converted the article back to 'compoising' status, meaning it's off limits to others.

When entering a smiley at the beginning of the message the leading space is trimmed and the smiley isn't displayed.

yep, spaces are treated inconsistently in smileys.
: ) works fine without a leading space
: ( does not

hadn't even investigated it that far
weird thing is tho that preview did show the smiley but once posted you can see the leading space disappear and the smiley doesn't work.

Hello!
When you get a e-mail notification for a reply to something you have posted, there is no way to distinguish between the reply, and the users signature (In the mail)
Should not a Line-Break or some such separate the reply from the signature?

do we need the signature to be mailed at all?
long messages get truncated so they don't show a signature in the mail, which is fine.

Whilst a sig is nice, it's not really needed in a message reply!
With your reply, I got:
:)

--------------------------- This is one of the lines in your sig ---------------------
I only read code that is properly indented, and(etc etc etc...)
Without your custom added lines, the "I only read code that..." bit would look like part of the reply

I will update the stylesheet in the emails so the sigs are separated.

you should not do so without leaving a message explaining what the improvement is, and how it could be improved further. As it is, both the author and all the readers are puzzled by your actions.

When the message gets deleted, the toolbar like 'Reply, Email, View Thread, Permalink, Bookmark' should also be appropriately made invisible right?

Clearly that would be optimal.
However, our handling of deleted messages is suboptimal at the moment.

Chris, here's another idiot who's posting bogus answers to random questions. Yes, I've clicked on the Remove button, but I suspect this guy is going to keep at it - he just registered today, probably the same guy as before.

I hit my 25th article last week and my status is still showing as gold. I thought 25+ articles made you a platinum member.

Pete,
I have faced the same issue.
AFAIK : Member status does not include Technical Blogs. Only articles submitted directly to Codeproject with will be counted.
And I hope CP Team will change this.
Hope Chirs can give you more input on this.

With respect, I hope they will not. Articles take much more preparation time and work than a 20-line blog. It would be an embarrassment to the site and an insult to article authors if that were to happen.

I am agree with you. But few members blog articles are also excelent.
I have asked the same question to chris few times back. Hope he can give us more clear view.

Hans, what do you think of a different threshold for blogs? Say 75 as opposed to 25 - that way if someone has 12 articles and 39 blogs, he effectively has 25 pro-rated articles (3 blogs == 1 article). And he gets Platinum.

Nish dear, I have a doubt.
Seriously, though, I think the ratio of 3 : 1 completely misses the point. I don't want to see any blog entries ever counted toward anything.
That said, I realize I will probably be in the minority, but 3 : 1 is way too much. How about 200 : 1? And to even be included in that, the blog entry must have a rating of at least 4.
