Hi,
Many sites give a link to quickly copy code snippets posted in messages instead of the user trying to copy the content manually. This, I think, can be a tiny feature which will help someone to test the code submitted quickly. Also, many a times users tend to miss a last word / some alphabets while trying to copy text manually.
What does others think about this ?

Got the error "There was an error processing your information. Please try again later" when I clicked report on article. Web21.

Which article?
The problem was when you report and article but don't choose a reporting reason it was failing with the wrong message. Fixed in next upload.

I just observed the following 'Coming Soon' in Settings Page:
Enhanced security – limit your account access to your location
I just thought shouldn't it be 'increased audit trails' rather than 'limiting access'. Or something like Google Mails' remote logout (as found in its footer). With limiting account access, I believe, people-on-the-move might be greatly inconvenienced right, at least those who would be in need of moving at a 23rd hour and not getting a chance to update the profile beforehand.

Hi, not sure if this is a bug, but whenver I want to contain codes like SQL in my message, I couldn't make a new post or reply properly. It would eventually direct me to a "Cannot Display This Page" error screen. But as soon as I take out the codes portion of my message, I could post without any problem.
And I've tried using code block or inline code function, but problem still remains.
Could you please help me know what might be the cause of this problem?
Thanks.

Did you put the "codes" into a <pre> block?

Thanks for the reply John, yes I did try putting codes into the
block, is there any particular rule as to how <pre> block and codes should come together?
|
|
|
|
|
Then the site might be checking for sql statements to avoid sql injection.

Did you manage to post a message? If so, what is the link? If not, can you post the text of the message here?

Thanks for the reply Chris. I eventually posted my message on the forum without the codes; as an alternative, I posted it on another forum and put the link back in my original message on CodeProject.
My post is the one which says, "Need help with constructing one query statement".

This is the other forum in which my codes where posted. I know this SQL codes look complicated, but yesterday I tried posting something much simpler but cannot do it either...

James, the link you provided is a link relative to your view settings - it's not a permalink. Can you please click on the "Permalink" link at the end of your posted message and send me that?
Found the message. You had posted code that included literal "<" characters which our forums mistook for the start of an HTML tag. You need to ensure you have "Encode HTML tags when pasting" checked when pasting code, or you could check "Do not interpret HTML tags (good for code snippets)" and just paste the code as-is.
I've fixed your message.

Within the FORUMS frame(on the left side), the 'Quick Answers' text does not become bold even though users are adding questions almost continuously.

The Quick Answers link is not meant to be there and will be removed in a few minutes.

I stumbled upon a "Tip and Trick" with some not so fantastic code (about identifying a PC), and tried to suggest some improvements by adding a few comment lines, not actually changing anything.
The net result is my name now is the only one showing anywhere near that piece of ***** and apparently there is nothing I can do about it. I strongly protest. I will never again touch a QA or TT that isn't mine until this gets completely fixed.
Several bugs got identified in this little misadventure:
bug1: the "T&T" should be marked "created by XYZ1, last edited by XYZ2" and obviously XYZ1 should never change.
[ADDED] seems it does that already, the layout is confusing; a vertical line between the "posted" column and the "edited" column would be good; also the original author's name should be shown using a larger and bolder font.[/ADDED]
bug2: on the versions page, all versions should show their author, so one can track who has touched it.
bug3: a rollback does not roll back completely, all it does is forget the changes to the content; it does not undo the new version nor the associated author.
bug4: I don't recall the exact title, I did not copy the URL, and as a result I don't know how I could ever reach that page again.
[ADDED]
Accidentally found it again here[^].

Sorry for the late reply. Been having too much fun on the break
bug1: We'll try and improve the UI around this. You're right the author should definitely be more emphasized than the editor.
bug2: Already on the todo list.
bug3: The rollback simply reverts the post's content, title and tags to the respective version. The member who performed the rollback is the last editor. This way we never lose information on how the post has changed state.
bug4: I'll talk this over with the team on how we could expose tips/tricks you've edited.

Hi Rajesh,

I've reported the problem and the possible cause. See my post below.
My apologies again.

Ah! I must have read that bug report of yours before I made mine.
Never mind, you've probably discovered a new bug in the system and the hamsters will be crushing it anytime soon.

I've just posted an answer to this[^] question but my answer have mixed with the previous thread.
As a result the two threads have combined under one question and my answer has totally changed.
I'm unable to edit or delete my answer.
I'm using Firefox 3.5.6.
