Nope. I notice it when I go back to edit a message.
Hey look! The blockquote worked this time!
I don't see any patterns really...
When I go to post/edit, my mind is what I'm going to post/edit, and I don't pay attention to much else. I think the gray hairs are interweaving with my cerebral cortex.

Check out the suggestions page (revision 13). Notice that the title says "Quick Answers Suggestions & TODOs" rather than "Quick Answers Suggestions & TODOs" (the ampersand is HTML encoded). Perhaps this is another manifestation of the "Encode HTML tags when pasting" checkbox getting randomly checked every now and then?

A different issue. Previously we were allowing HTML in subjects. A bad idea. I'm now HTML encoding subjects so there will be a few with old, HTML subject lines.
Like ours

When I copy and paste a web link into a new message for the Soapbox (that is the new soapbox 2.0), then it comes out like:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article7015973.ece
and not like
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article7015973.ece[^]
I have checked that the 'Do not interpret HTML tags...' option is not checked.
With exactly the same options checked it works when pasting in links to this box, and it works when pasting links into a new message for the the Lounge.
Am I missing something here?
(BTW I'm using Chrome, but like I say it usually works)
TIA

It's your reputation... I thought that answer was obvious, but I guess not.

Do you mean "why are you getting downvoted"?
I would suggest reviewing your posts that had been downvoted and looking at their content and the reaction of the community.

What is wrong with my first post here in this thread? I was just asking a question and I got 2-oneVoted for it

"Why don't the other kids like me? Momma claims, I am a nice boy!"
edit: Woa, that was quick, the post is less then three minutes old, and already down-voted. I wonder why. But... (whining) I will be strong (sniveling)! I can handle it!

Okay, now that's just not fair. I 5ed you for posting a thanks - it's something I always do when people thank me. I'm annoyed that somebody decided to univote you for something totally innocuous.

A negative rep?
Could it be because you are turning into sub-strata dwelling creature.

Is this one of those trick questions where someone makes a statement like "A man walks out of an elevator and looks at his watch. Suddenly an elephant falls from the sky. What happened." and you have to guess these things like "was he a disgruntled circus performing midget aiding an elephant in a bizarre euthanisia pact but was actually acting as a terrorist for the Swedish government?" type thing?
Yes, when you view a question it increases the view count. We spent all night thinking about what our best option was for handling views, the view count, and the displaying of the view count, and after reading up on the topic we decided that increasing the view count would provide the most benefit to our readers and authors.
