Yes, we definitely encourage Flash videos in our articles. In the article editor, 2nd row, 2nd icon, is a 'movie' button that allows you to enter Flash movies into your articles.
It's not currently working for Silverlight, but we have that as a known bug and will fix it as soon as we can get to it.

1. Write message
2. Uncheck 'Use HTML in this post'
3. Post it
4. Edit that message
5. Check 'Use HTML in this post'
6. Update/Post it
on 6th step it should remember 'Use HTML in this post' as checked but no it doesn't. So now when you will write a new message you will find 'Use HTML in this post' still unchecked which suppose to be checked.

you can change the default settings of those checkboxes on your settings page[^] (forum tab).
you can also change them on the edit page of a new message, not on the edit page when editing a message; yes it is confusing.

The feeling from some of the other members who discussed this - and ultimately led to it's current form - is that if you go back and edit an old message that was posted with a setting different from your standard setting then it should not then perpetuate that change to all your new postings.

I was in at least one of those earlier discussions.
It still is my feeling the user comfort could be improved in two mutually exclusive ways:
1.
have the defaults be settable only on the settings page
AND add the message "changing these settings will apply to this message only" on the edit message page
2.
leave the logic as is
AND add one of the messages "changing these settings will also change the default for future messages, as you are creating a new message now" or "changing these settings will apply to this message only, as you are editing an existing message" on the edit message page
|
|
|
|
|
I prefer 1. What about you?

So do I as it is the simpler of those two, and there isn't a real need for (2) I guess.
However I now prefer 1+ which says:
have the defaults be settable only on the settings page
AND add the message "changing these settings will apply to this message only; permanently changing the defaults can be handled on the settings page" on the edit message page
and I would suggest you also make "the settings page" a hyperlink, which opens the page and tab right away.
|
|
|
|
|
as do I.

2x12=24
1x12=12
0x12=18

Okay that make sense but its easy to solve this. The server can check that if user updates the message within 1 or 2 minutes then update the settings else not.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Please don't bring time into things that don't need it, it becomes untestable and completely unobservable.

???
maybe you never notice when you edit your message after 2 or 3 minutes, its title get appended by "[modified]" so while checking this, settings can be updated. Its not BFD.

This is the wrong way to spell color.
I struggled to find my personal links in the top task bar.I find the font size to small and the COLOUR
not vivid enough.

What colour would you like? Plain blue?

If you must change it, I'd suggest Vivid Black.
And maybe bold for all of them, not just "Watched Items".

I would prefer Octarine.

I'm not a bit surprised you would.
May I suggest you convince Chris to offer full skinning support, so you can have it your way without hampering those with a somewhat limited spectrum.
BTW: I do hope we can get there without engaging in never ending WPF/SilverLight adventures.

I just had a look into the VB.NET-forum: nearly every message on the first two pages had been voted 5. Somebody on a 5-voting-rampage? Testing a voting bot? Or just coincidence?

Maybe they were all just pleased with themselves.
In fact, hold your hands in front of the screen and feel the waves of smugness it generates!

I feel nothing. Maybe you have an old CRT screen and that's the static charge you feel there?

What, one does get points for upvoting messages? I really should read the rep-faq. Again.
