I'm not a web dev, strictly desktop for me though I've dabbled a little obviously. Perhaps a csv classes attribute in the pre tag?
<pre lang="cs" classes="MyCoolClass,AnotherBigBeastie,CodeProjectHelper">
public class MyCoolClass
{
}
...
</pre>

Oh! I didn't see the question time. It was on the first page and I was curious to see no comments for the vote.

reporting an article, in the new layout, does not yield any Organizer rep points apparently.
|
|
|
|
|
According to the FAQ, we're supposed to get 1 point for it, and there is no limit on how many times we can do it. I suspect it's a flaw somewhere, and that once fixed, we will once again experience an adjustment of the reputation points.

Thanks Luc - added to the bug list.
We have all records of article reports so as John says, we can retroactively add back the points.

I think this problem was mentioned after the last points recalc because many of us lost organizer points.

It would be my guess that we all lost those org points that correspond to reporting articles/messages that ceased to exist, i.e. the reporting points are temporary, once the target is gone, the points are collectible by GC/CM.
So I think there is more than one issue with reporting articles.

Wouldn't it be nice if the right side bar become fix. I mean when you scroll down to end, it looks like site didn't loaded properly because of empty space. So if the right side bar keep there fixed it will fill that space and will look better.

I am not sure what the "kid-sister friendly" rule means, but the kind of posts I recently see in the Lounge makes me reconsider my participation at CodeProject. Maybe it is time to introduce the "work-safe" rule instead and actually enforce it?
I am not asking this because any of that stuff personaly offends me - it really does not. However, if you search the Interent for my name, there will be quite a few links to CodeProject.com and I don't want to be associated with the kind of discussions we are seeing in the Lounge.

They aint going to delete unless there are several reports or if message is highly crossed the line.

The "line" is set to high, IMHO. Threads like: this one[^] or this[^] or this[^] (in fact pretty much any thread started by Michael Martin) do not belong to CodeProject.com and yet they are still here.

I agree that the Lounge should be KSF, but I'm wondering what you expect to happen here? You do see the [Vote to Remove Message] link, right? Do you use it?
I'm not sure that Chris reads every post in the Lounge, so he might not see the posts you are referring to, unless you click that link. You must realize there is no CP person monitoring the Lounge 24/7, so it's not clear what you mean by "actually enforce it". When a problem is reported, it's always taken care of; it just might not happen in real time.
Nemanja Trifunovic wrote: I don't want to be associated with the kind of discussions we are seeing in the Lounge.
If that's your attitude, then leave. If you really cared about CP, then stay, and work with other CP members to fix this problem.

Yes, and I have never seen anything done about it.
Hans Dietrich wrote: When a problem is reported, it's always taken care of; it just might not happen in real time.
That has not been my experience at all. The Lounge is still full of the posts that do not belong on a site targeted to professional developers

I have been a CodeProject member since 2000 (officially joined in 2001, I think) and still feel it is the best developer community on the web. The Lounge and various Soapbox forums are just ruining that experience.

You seem to be under a misunderstanding here. The lounge is where we go to kick back from being developers. It's the area where you get to blow off steam for a bit, and the lounge is obviously incredibly popular as it's the most active area in the site.

That is pretty much OK with me.

That is *not* OK: "Posting Guidelines: The Lounge is rated PG. If you're about to post something you wouldn't want your kid sister to read then don't post it. No flame wars, no abusive conduct and please don't post ads."

Well, I've not really seen anything today that I wouldn't say to my kid sister, so I guess it's a bit subjective...

Also, as I said, the "kid sister" rule is not clear. Kids are nasty these days I just want to be comfortable with my boss seing the forums I am a member of.
