I'm browsing QA without any filters applied.
Sometimes when I check out a specific post, and go back to the QA forum, a filter appears from nowhere. I seems to be chosen at random (at least I can't see any connection between the filter and anything I have done).
VERY irritating; I think I'm browsing ALL the QA posts, and then suddenly I'm only browsing some of them...

Suddenly some filter gets applied automatically and based on that Q&A reflects.

I can't edit any of my articles. All I get is "You do not have permission to view this page" when I click the Edit link. Yes, I am logged in because I can edit my account information (and I can see the Edit button when viewing an article).

Sorry about that - all fixed.

He's posting[^] asking questions for help writing malicious software. Take a look at his last post.
"WPF has many lovers. It's a veritable porn star!" - Josh Smith As Braveheart once said, "You can take our freedom but you'll never take our Hobnobs!" - Martin Hughes.

He's entitled to ask his questions, and everyone else is entitled to vote his question for removal or ignore him. Removing him means I start playing whack-a-mole.

My concern is more that somebody might actually tell him.

Fair point well made. I've posted a warning to people to be careful what they answer, but I suspect you could be right.

Sorry, won't do it again.
edit: his router has its admin console thing open to the web and his login/pass are the default admin/admin. He also has telnet and ftp ports open. If this guy is a hacker, he's totally failed.

Well, in that case we should be more concerned on the data found and shared by you!

Do you want to know how I did it?

It's actually not exciting at all.. in the code that he posted (the code without the pre tags...) he left a valid gmail address/password combo. Gmail has that nice "Recent activity" thing which logs the IP address and access type for a couple of successful logins.
There's a small chance that he asked someone else to create a gmail account for him.
Armed with his (probably..) IP address, I used nmap.
nmap found some nice open ports, including http, so I used firefox to take a look.
I found a login prompt for a router, so I tried admin/admin thinking "he couldn't have been that stupid" - he was/is.
That's all.
Oh and I took the liberty of deleting his gmail account. They're free anyway. But maybe it will teach him something. For example, that he's not a real hacker.

Well, thanks for sharing. That was effort made by you investigating
Though, i think the last part wasn't a good idea. It just looks like he is new to internet world(and not a hacker!).

|
|
|
|
Why is he writing a keylogger then?
Anyway, it won't hurt him much, he hadn't used the account yet and he could just make a new one..
