I'm trying to work out the difference between SO's chatrooms and typical discussion boards. I guess the main difference is there's no thread, just a firehose of comments.
Interesting, but I (and I guess GMail) prefer threaded conversations.

Why isn't there a pick list for the Tags? We're supposed to remember all the available ones? (It complains if you guess wrong)
Or am I missing an available list?

Here... Defined Tags[^]
On right hand side panel, we have this Tag cloud defined.

Maybe it's just my browser then? (IE8) When I go to "Ask A Question", nothing there but the text boxes and such. To the right are the emoticons, and to the right of those....nothing.

When posting a question the "Tags" box should auto-complete the tags for you.

Yep.
Think it would be better to have an actual pick-list or at least a caveat saying you have to pick whatever the autocomplete comes up with, rather than getting yelled at at the end for making up your own tags.
No worries.

For the time being, I wonder if the 'Other Language' menu options (in the Questions and answers) menu dropdown, should be moved to the Lounge menu (which now has a drop down and displays 'Clever code','Hall of shame' etc.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

Ok. It was just a thought.

This tip[^] looks like a rather sneaky way to advertise. They may be paying you huge royalties, but somehow I doubt it.

Someone is down voting all the posts in GIT.
I visited the forum an hour back and half of the first page was greyed out. I visited again now and the next page is grey too.
AFAIK, continuous voting is not allowed. So the uni-voter is voting down every single post in intervals.
Could you please look into the issue and kick the uni-tosser on his ar** back.

Ankur,
Not only a single page. I saw 5 pages grayed in GIT and thought to report Chris about it. Great you already reported here. This is really a bad day for GIT

Yeah, I know. I am trying to counter them with my 5's but too soon get a message which stops me from voting for a while.
I am wondering how much time does the voter have?
Or wait, is he fed up of his life and has nothing interesting to do!?!

Not sure...

Counter it the recommended way. 5-vote the gray posts. That way whoever got voted down ends up with more rep points than they'd normally have. That's certainly not what the univoter wants here

|
|
|
|
That's what I am already doing.

Yeah I am trying to make the entire first 2 pages red, but presently I am locked out of voting because of too many votes

First 2 pages are almost back in Blue.

What's astonishing is that the guy covered the first 150 posts and with the vote-blocks in place that prevent vote-bombing he must have patiently waited and taken his time to do this. In fact he may still be up and doing this in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th pages for all I know.

I would not say that's the recommended way. I can clean up the previous mess, but not (easily) the mess that counter-voting makes.

Well I wouldn't say 5-voting results in a mess. It may be unnatural to see a forum with several up-voted posts but no one complains about that.

How did he work around the IP-address based vote-limitation? Did he/she use multiple IP addresses?

Thank you so much!
This completes 30,000 posts in this forum.
Edit: Just checked, it does. I posted this just to be the 30,000th post poster. Sorry couldn't resist.
