You could make me the official CodeProject Harbinger of Doom, and I could visit death and destruction on anyone that posts such a method in Q/A. I have the means, and am surely capable... All I need is travel money.

Do you really want to get felt up by the big, brutish, ugly TSA security that often? I'm getting mixed messages from you here...
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

When they see my offical CodeProject Harbinger of Doom badge and secret decoder ring, they'll just wave me through. It's part of the power I wield.

John, it's a great idea - really - but I'm not sure the world is ready.

In every society, great men walk among the lesser folk long before the rest of the world is ready. I have come to live with that particular burden of my existence, and only hope that history is thoughtful of all of the good I *could* have done, if only the rest of society would have accepted it as the magnanimous gesture it was intended to be.

This Article[^] is of interest to me.
I tried looking, but how do I bookmark it?

I will never again mention that I was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel. Dalek Dave

By clicking the bookmark icon, the yellow star with green plus sign at the top of the article, where the print, discuss, and report icons are. Isn't it there for you?

I couldn't see it.
That's why I asked.
Edit
Amazing what a Ctrl F5 can do!

Note that you will only see it if you are logged in. I ran into that problem once and it was because I was not logged in.

Using FF3.6 on C/C++/MFC forum, reading a reply, wanting to vote, I got another first: a little Window popped up, saying: Vote Failed. You voted 5. Rating now 5 (votes: 1). With a "Close Window" button. The button works fine. A ticket wasn't mentioned. You ought to get one anyway.
[ADDED] After a page reload, I was able to get my vote recorded.[/ADDED]

This happens when, for whatever reason, the javascript for doing the Ajax vote fails and so the voting mechanism falls back to the old, non-ajax way.
I can see the error in the logs and will get to it.

Would be neat to see the results of a poll that asks if members have computer science degrees. Options might be:
- I write software and I have a CS degree.
- I write software and I don't have a CS degree.
- I DO NOT write software and I have a CS degree.
- I DO NOT write software and I don't have a CS degree.

Rather than combining two yes/no questions this gem[^] would suggest a much more informative 0-to-3 position on every axis in a 32-dimensional space. It might be a bit over the top for a home page poll...

Awesome! Interesting results so far, and the comments at the bottom are fun to read as well. Thanks for using my suggestion!

If you change nothing else, CHANGE THE CANCEL BUTTON IN Q&A!
Magenta on Red! What were you thinking? Tsk, tsk, tsk...
Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

Much much worse is the fact that the same "color scheme" (or lack thereof) is used in Tips&Tricks. However I'm not convinced it relates to the magenta hyperlink fad, it could do, but I'm not sure it does. Anyway, white on red (for Cancel) would be as nice as white on green (for Post).

Oh god. I haven't been there yet - maybe I'll just pull the covers over my head and stay in the dark until it's over...

ORDER BY total rep DESC has landed. it isn't the default, but it is available. And the dropdown has gotten a memory.
Thank you.

Looks like you are running couple of days late on this...
I am on 12th... you on 5th... finally I will be visible in some list now
BTW, looks like the memory part you said, it was your suggestion[^] well taken care of by Chris.

I was wondering, as the software was released on november 28 (the day before the thread in S&B??); someone had to have noticed it sooner.

Actually I too was a day late(about rep based sorting implementation here in Who's who). Few thread discussions lead me to it. (that sudden Org point jump thread with bookmarking as possible reason started me on how they noticed it and then one more thread on having a new CP Vanity version...)
Luc Pattyn wrote: and that in basically one year. waw
Yep, most of it. Looks like, I got a real hang of CP this year!

"Dropdown has aquired a memory"
"Dropdown now has a memory"
"Dropdown is no longer forgetful"
So many ways to avoid unnecessary words...
