I'm still running McAfee, need some time to finally toss it out.
The demo zip holds two files: client1.exe extracts just fine, extracting server.exe yields a "Trojan detected; removed; no further action required" window and NO file extraction (so the "removed" applies to the whole exe file!). I can't tell this is a true or a false positive.
I haven't looked at the larger ZIP.

Most likely a false alert, Sean. One of the exes in that article is a listening socket server which is the trademark of a trojan, so most anti-viruses would think it's a malicious binary unless it's signed or otherwise authenticated.

The Questions & Answers menu has a few headers (Quick Answers, Programming Discussions, Other Languages). They are looking pretty ugly at the moment (black text that is not bold, on same green background as the rest of the menu).

Those are the only two menu items all around using that color scheme.
And their color scheme changes when hovered, although they aren't enabled; not a normal UI behavior at all.

That was an interesting one.
You know how you sometimes try Ctrl-S but you get "s" instead? While working on the CSS I did exactly that, so the ".heading" class became ".s". All fixed, give or take a cache refresh.

Good to know I'm not the only one who has done that...
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

That doesn't happen often, but I sometimes hit CTRL+A on accident and delete all my text.

strange things are going on with revision counts and numbers.
I just updated CP Vanity (again). When I looked at the result, the rightmost tab said "Revisions (20)", however clicking it showed a table with only 16 revisions, numbers 1 to 16 (and 16 indeed was the previous revision). A few clicks later, the tab said "Revisions (16)", and later on it was "Revisions (20)" again.
that is more than enough to confuse the casual observer...
PS: I do have screen shot evidence.

Strange. Did you toggle "show minor edits" at any point?
|
|
|
|
|
I may have in the past, I sure haven't this year, I haven't seen such a beast recently, and AFAIK the limitedness (minorness?) of edits is determined automatically now. And anyway, what I see isn't consistent: without changing a thing, the revision count toggles between 16 and 20.

I want those screenshots! I only ever see 20 in the tab header. You have 16 major edits and 20 total edits, so that definitely seems like a factor.
|
|
|
|
|
Yes, it has stabilized now on 20 in the tab (web02,web23,web24), and 16 listed in the table, all with minor=no.
I now have discovered a button "Show minor edits", and when clicked, I get 20 revisions, numbered 1-19 and "latest". That makes sense.
So these are my remaining comments:
- repeatability was low initially, I did see "Revisions (20)" as well as "Revisions (16)" and I only did 1 revision this month.
- when "Show minor edits" gets clicked, it disappears and can't be undone, except by reloading the page and clicking the tab.
- inconsistency: the tab mentions "revisions", the table has a column "minor change" and the button says "minor edits". WTF.

That is odd. Could you please (if you haven't already) send me the screenshots?
One quick thought: were you logged in at all times when viewing the page? Did you click the "show minor edits" button and then see the full set of revisions?

there is no CP software version at the bottom of the article page, no matter which tab is showing.
the server name is present though.

The recent account removal of the big guy, while removing his profile so it can no longer be viewed, still leaves his profile pic available for those of us who have that option turned on. When you hover over a message posted by him, his pic is still displayed. Just a minor annoyance, but maybe one you want to look at though.
