Elsewhere I would probably write a list from #1, but the convention hsa grown here that list start with #0 as arrays use 0 based indexes. The VB line is because VB's default is, contrary to other languages, 1 based.
I'm around the 30 year mark [if I include skool wot I learnt me code at] for programming. VB is the only one I can think of that uses 1 based arrays.

I'm not really one for convention. This particular one just seems to be really silly.

It's an interesting idea but chat is not something we're planning at the moment. I've watched many chat rooms over the years, some old, some just recently opened, and generally what I see is great feedback lost to the general populace, or moaning and groaning sessions that spiral out of control, or discussions that rapidly head off topic and/or get abusive and demanding.

I could have really used something like that last weekend though. I had (and still have) a bitmap issue that would take days or weeks to get resolved because of the round-trip messages that occur with email or message forums. Using IRC is out of the question for the very reasons you cited, but a well-thought-out chat feature would be really nice to have when we need it.

http://www.codeproject.com/Search.aspx?qf=epub&q=epub&categoryid=f1_1159_&sort=createddesc[^]
Because of the recent unusual behavior of Chrome Canary, I made sure to test this in IE 9.
Just now I did a search on the Lounge (using the Lounge specific search entry field) for "epub," looking for a recent thread on the Lounge where conversion of e-books was discussed.
The search returned many results. I then modified the search to show in "Date Created Descending" order.
What the modified search returns is a page with no search results, and some curiously unexpected missing ui elements.

It's a timeout issue. Try it again and you'll see the results. We are extremely tight on timeouts for search, so for an uncommon search with an uncommon sort, the search servers need to work harder and sometimes they can be too slow. Next time they get it.

82kb cropped and down-sampled screen shot here:[^]
Never seen CP mutilated like this, and I've been using the ... oh so frequently updated ... Canary builds for over two months now.
Yes, I am fully aware this is beta software, and, yes, I am sure this is not CP's problem !
Canary is even mutilating the preview of this message.
Why am I posting this: perhaps the same reason the Smithsonian keeps medical curiosities like strange foetuses with multiple organs ?

I came here to suggest a live chat feature. Check out my suggestion.

But if this feature is possible(soon) without any restrictions then,
This feature is danger to Q/A section & forums. Newbies will prefer this feature always to ask questions.
If an enquirer ask a question in Q/A section & forums then it's accessible(shared) to other members too. Also it's searchable one using CP search. And other advantage is he can get number of solutions(be number of authorities) for that single question. It's impossible in chat.

You shouldn't remove the message man. Actually It's your suggestion. And I replied my opinion to that. So there's no need to remove the message.
Note for platinum down-voter : I'm almost inactive here since last month so I don't think I pissed you off. You are down-voting my recent messages since yesterday

I usually don't do a counter, unless I feel the need to. Countered your 2 other messages. Have a 5 here as well.

Deleting it isn't going to remove the downvotes. Just learn to live with it, and move on. Ultimately, the points don't matter do they? It's not as though you can use them to buy things with.
