Is there a Holy War in progress?
This one[^] doesn't look so bad to me.
Another victim of the crusade: electronic voting machine[^].
OK, I recognize the above is a victim of the 'deleting' crusade.

The user has made no attempt to provide background or context nor have they asked an actual question.
"iam trying to make android app which stores, display, manipulate the images in sqlite database.I need help as iam new to android."
What sort of help? What has been tried? Which bit do you need help on?

Apparently he has NOT tried hard. But that is not a novelty in the Q&A.
From the sentence I guess the OP needs some background in Android development, this is the reason why I suggested him the Burnette's book and to search for some tutorials about SQlite development on Android platform.

And I definitely appreciate you trying to help.
I get very frustrated, though, when members put little or no effort into explaining their issue in a way that allows someone to provide direct help. We're here to help each other do our jobs. We're not here to do each other's jobs, nor be surrogates for doing one's own research.
(In re-reading I guess I need to add the rant icon here...)

Why oh why can't we get a +500 button for quotes such as these?
Why is common sense not common?
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level where they are an expert.

Hi,
When I try to update my article[^], I get this error:
Problem: Exception of type

Thanks.

I guessing Web02 has amnesia!

Joking apart, I can not update the project for three days
The error indicates not only on the web02, sometimes web03, sometimes web01.

This is specific to your article.
Could you please send your updates to chris at codeproject.com so I can update it directly? I've spent a good chunk of the day trying to work out what's happening here. It works perfectly on my local, crappy machine, is terrible on staging, and dies on production.
Argh!

I just signed up for RootAdmin.com and, while logged into CodeProject, I saw a little mail icon next to my username at the top of the page that said I needed to confirm my email address. To be clear, I saw the icon on CodeProject.com. I'm guessing this is because I signed into RootAdmin.com using my CodeProject.com login (and then followed the intructions to finish creating my account there). So it looks like things are getting mixed up between the two sites.

I can confirm this bug. It appears to bounce open for a short fraction of a second, then close again.

It works on my home machine (IE9), but wasn't working on my work machine (IE8). Perhaps they fixed it or it's browser specific.

I've found and fixed the issue. Will try uploading the fix tonight or tomorrow.

hello guys... Formatting new messages is the problem. I use these tags properly they are just shown and the text wrapped in these tags is not formatted accordingly.
For example the Bold tag, the Italic, the Code tag - all of them are not working for me.
<b>EXAMPLE:</b>
<b><pre lang="c++">This is BOLD with CODE</pre></b>.
I dont know if you can see above line bold or not, but I can not
What can be the issue?

Check your settings and see if the 'Treat my content as plain text, not HTML' checkbox is checked.
Go to your settings page, select the forums tab, and under Default Post Options, look at the third checkbox.

No problem, I have been bitten by that one a few times as well, so I thought that would be a good place to start.
