That is on purpose, it's just design. if you ask me, it looks good. (if you are talking about the green alien not inside the orange stripe completely)

I think that looks good. Makes it look like Bob is standing in front of a wall.
If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.-John Q. I clicked on one of the news items under latest news on home page. During postback, I noticed this little thing. Not really a bug but I wonder what this is. Here's[^] the screenshot.

This happens for all the news items. You need to have a bit of slow internet connection and need to press escape before postback completes.

Can you think over a reading pane over the classic threaded look? And if possible, accordian per thread? So that we can get rid of the increased scrolling.

Overall the new design is good, but as others have mentioned, the sea of white can be a bit harsh on the eyes. It'd be nice to have the option to select different themes (maybe a gray for instance).
Of course, it may be difficult to find other colors that go well with orange .

I'll admit I'm not familiar with Metro design standards, so maybe my suggestion should just be ignored, but here's my $0.02.
Since the login fields are only visible while the mouse is hovering over the Sign In icon, it makes it difficult to use something like KeePass to auto-type the login. Granted, if I click the Login button, I can still get to a different screen with the login fields and it works, but it would be nice if this still worked from the other pages as well.
Or even if the login fields stay visible after moving the mouse, and maybe the user to click outside the fields to dismiss the dialog?

is not showing properly. If a question has the vote 1 it will show 4 empty stars and a missing star, like this question[^].
The upvotes here[^] also looks stange.

Not sure if that is part of the Metro design or an actual bug. Hmmmmmmm................... I am going with BUG.
I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.

Looks like something strange has happened to the voting in articles as well. If you take a look at the votes given you see that the lower votes are center of the popup of all votes. Example:Finding prime numbers[^]
