I know it is very bad to ask, but if the forge is still active, I'd be more than happy to wear a ring as well ( but then you'd also need a seventh ring to rule them all ).

Facing the current spam overflow, a new feature might be a good idea:
If someone signs up for CP and his email address was banned 3 times before the email address is locked out from signing up for the next year or two.

And what's to stop the spammers from creating new email addresses? The database would pretty quickly become bloated with randomly generated single-use addresses.

Have a look at the Article Writing forum: http://www.codeproject.com/Forums/1641/Article-Writing.aspx[^] and the whole of the first page and most of the second is "Message automatically removed" after a astrology spam cleanup.
Perhaps a permission extension to allow Protectors to delete automatically removed message threads? We are here more than you, after all...

Similar problem on the .NET Framework forum[^] now.
I don't know what they're trying to achieve. Even if we were all idiots who were likely to fall for these spam messages, surely flooding the forum with them would tip us off that there was something dodgy going on?

Nobody told me there was a minimum IQ limit for spammers.
Obviously, there is a maximum IQ limit for astrologers. And it's similar to shoe sizes...

Spammy SEO was all about boosting the page rank of a site by generating a flood of links to it. Google changed its algorithms last fall to severely penalize doing so but not all the bottom feeders have figured it out yet.
http://www.theawl.com/2013/12/the-new-spammer-panic[^]
Quote: "The average drop was from page one to page five in Google," he said. In some cases they even dropped as low as page ten. How often do you find yourself on the fifth—much less the tenth—page of Google results? If you've gotten that far, you're better off just refining or revising your search terms.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

The Article Writing forum contains a lot of spam and "Message Automatically Removed" messages. Is there an admin who can remove them all?

I posted this response to a question on the C# language forum: [^] 14 hours and 50 minutes ago; at that time this response by Richard Deeming: [^], posted 15 hours and 57 minutes ago, was not visible.
And, yes, I do refresh CP pages before I respond to a question to try and avoid giving responses that may look like "me-too's," and, being a slacker, I certainly want to avoid posting when I think the query is fully answered/responded to !
What really puzzles me is that some parts of CP seem to be updated instantly. But QA, Language Forums, and Lounge, are often showing delays of up to 2+ hours in content updating.
Could it be that the Hamsters on the Thailand QA and Language Forum server are looking at pictures of tropical beaches on Koh Phangan with bare-breasted Scandinavian female tourists sunbathing, and ... uhhh ... slacking ?
thanks, Bill

sometimes the thread discussion needs the employment of an emoticon that is not present. So one suggested emoticon is
 - an animated icon showing a sickly-green face throwing up --- for use when you are just disgusted with what someone has just posted or the way the thread is going ---
any others?

This article[^] does seem to scratch the border of spam, even though no direct contact possibilites are listed (being the cause why I don't post this in the spam watch).
Whatever, the article seems rather to be a Reference, and definately not an article.
Any volunteer willing to fix it?
