I was just searching through this forum to see if anyone else having the problem. I am having this issue also.
Also, have you seen the problem where you float over the Articles...menu and when you move down you cannot get to any of the submenus except the first? When you float over the first submenu (Chapters & Sections) then it expands and you can never get to the lower submenus of Articles.
I'm on a laptop running windows 10 and Chrome Browser Version 51.0.2704.84 m.
Thanks

Can you please try now?

Nope. Still does it, though it's not consistent.
In the original problem, you have to click twice on ANY menu items to get any of them to work. You didn't have to click on the same item twice, just inside any menus. It could be a link in the Articles menu and then one in Quick Answers and the QA link would work.
Now, it's changed a little bit. Most of the time the problem still shows up, now its a little different. You still have to click on two items in any of the menus, it doesn't matter if these items are in the same menu or not or even the same items, and the 2nd menu item clicked will work. But, a change has occurred, sort of. The 3rd menu item click after one that worked may work on the first try. The 4th click may or may not work on the first try.
It's really inconsistent. A couple of test cases, all consistently reproducible and in both browsers:
Chrome 53.0.2785.143 (Official - 64-bit)
Blink 537.36
Javascript V8 5.3.332.47
Flash 23.0.0.185
IE 11.633.10586.0
Update Versions: 11.0.36 (KB3191492)

Again, this only happens on my work laptop, before and after being completely rebuilt, running Win 10.0.10586.
My work Desktop machine, running the exact same build the laptop is running, including all security and antivirus software, and does NOT have these problems.
I've also eliminated the possibility of our Blue Coat screwing it up as it does this both inside and outside the corporate network. Disabled most security software, though I still have to get Trend Office Scan disabled and try the tests again.
All tests work perfectly on my Win 10 machine at home, both before and after the Anniversary Update.
This is the strangest crap I've ever seen. I know it has to be something on this laptop but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it is.

Thanks for the links. I will check this out later. I just wanted to mention this to you guys for general info, in case you didn't know. Like I said, this just started happening today for me, and it seems to only affect "some" Lounge posts - go figure.

Although I have no problem with the suffix in the URL the problem is when this is shown in the posts that are on net. Such as when I copy and paste the URL, Member 12560832 - Professional Profile - CodeProject[^] this is the result. On the network the remaining part should be cropped out as we know this is a network profile for CodeProject member. Leaving it as, Member 12560832[^] would suffice.
Besides I don't understand and I have never used the @chris-maunder feature, how does that work? If that works (by words I mean if that can send a notification or so) I recommend that the on net URLs should be converted to that notation. That would be a good UX; in my opinion.

I also had a question, does that thing even notify you? @chris-maunder? Or is that just sugar coating that converts text to URL?

Yep - it notifies me if I'm not already getting notified of a post (eg I'm subscribed to the forum or it's a post that's a reply to one of my posts)

I received the mail shot "Codeproject | Offers - Ultimate Guide: Motivating your tech team with learning"
the content of the email is just the Pluralsight footer with a "Download now" label that isn't a link. I can forward the email for you if required.

I know that locking a question like StackOverflow is not wanted here, but SO has another thing that may work: Protecting a question, which allows new answers, but only from people with sufficient reputation (on SO, that's 10, here it might need to be higher).
According to the notice on Protected questions, this is done to prevent Spam and answers that don't add anything to the discussion.

Reputation is not a synonim of skill, a new user could have solved the problem of the question in a different or better way - or maybe the answerers wer all wrong as it may happen.
Then you cut them off the respinse, limiting the quality of the site, while spam is already dealt fairly quickly and good.

Why lock down a question? If someone has a better answer why not let them add it? Sometimes old questions might show up in a search and if there is a newer, better way of handling whatever the question is then it would make sense to update it with a newer answer.

I think there has to be some sort of balance. But it is a difficult one to find the right answer too.
Does editing a question that is 3 years old bring any benefit to the community? personally I don't think so.
Does adding an answer to a question that was posted 6 months ago bring benefit? yes
Does adding an answer to a question that was posted nearly 2 years ago? depends on the framework / language being used.
