One of the critaria to have platinum level is to post 25 and above articles, but is there any conditions for the article that will be considered for the platinum level membership?
forexample if i post 25 crapy articles and they are all in plugatory will my membership level be platinum?
I asked so coz if you see the articles by euacela , most of them are below 2 rated (may be all).
I asked so because, if I want to see all the articles by a platinum member, I would be surprised to see them in plagatory and poorly written that no one would like to read.

Hi,
Firstly i congratulate u all for ur efforts in running the Discussion Forum Effectively and successfully.
I suggest u to please include "Porting" as a sub head in the Discussion Forum. Its completely ur choice to include it as seperate head like the Managed C++, STL ...etc or under the General Discussion Head.
It will be highly helpful for all those who are working on Porting either one way or the other way. Like either Porting Code from One Language to other or from one OS to Another.
Hope u will find it effective and do the needful for the same.
Cheers !

Well you can always use the forum of the language that you are porting to.

There is an article at link http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/simple_ocr.asp about creating an OCR with ANN. But the source can not compile because of the commercial library needed by the application which is written and sold by the very same article writer.
Are these kind of articles allowed?
I mean, it does not help you about anything, and gives no idea about what is being done. It only advertises itself?
Please, do something about it.

I hate to be the spelling police, especially as I can make many smelling pistakes myself, but it is "Who's who". It is a contraction of "Who is who"

It should not be too difficult to make the Google ads integrate with the overall feel of the site. Orange borders, light orange background, consistent font, an non-bold links would make these ads even less obstrusive.

That's what I was thinking. The gray doesn't blend too well as you said.

I dont agree with you with this Micheal.... Not totally though.
Look at other articles they look so transparent to the site.
yeah, ads should standout, but should not sit on our face.

Isn't the "Ads by Google" caption enough? Do the ads have to look crappy too?
Distinctive look is one thing, but the way they look now is distracting and amateurish.

Must say that now ith the orange border they look much more advertisy to me than before (I guess because all other ads are in the orange area, above the orange "title row" bar, or at the very bottom, so orange is the main separator.)

How about an option when submitting an article, that allows the author to specify that anonymous postings to their article are not allowed. This would be similar to some forums that allow anonymous postings and some that don't. I know this is a very contentious issue and there is no easy answer, but considering some of the recent discussions, maybe this might be a workable solution for all. Thanks.

This is a great idea. One further extension: only people who have posted a comment will be allowed to vote on an article.

What are CodeProject RSS categories? I recently found Code Project Articles RSS feed but since it gets updated quite often I would like to subscribe only for a few categories. I spent 15 minutes searching what the categories are, but found nothing useful (even with the help of Google). Can someone help me?

Go to the homepage and click on one of the category tabs. The RSS feed link on the 'latest article' list will be the feed for the category you are interested in.
