Some times menu items get shifted

I added the following menu items: file, edit and view sequentially.When i run the application it shows in proper order. Then when i do some operations in application, i observed that the menu items are in this order edit, view and file.
Why did the order change?

Solution 1

Go to Menu property - item collection - check the MergAction and Mergindex and values. u can append the menu where ever u want inthe menu strip

We have menu strip in an MDI form. Menu strip having some menus on it. Merge index and MergAction properties are set in design and never changed on runtime. When application loaded, all menus are shown in proper sequence. At run time some menus are show/hide according to user action with software. In many cases menu itmes are shown in proper order. But some times, we observed that sequences of menu items are changed.
