Whether or not the code is for a class and whether or not he does have any basic programing knowledge or not why not just answer his question and get him on his feet ?

Could you be a bit more descriptive about what you are trying to achieve ?

Are you filling your datagrid from a datasource like access or sql or are you just trying to add records to a datatable and then display it in a datagrid on the form ?

I DID answer his question - the way to do what he said, is to put the data into a data store, and then pull it out.  There's a 99% chance that he's being paid to do this by some poor sucker in the west who thinks he's getting a programmer for his $2 an hour.  Perhaps they deserve each other, but either way, while I did answer the question, it annoys me that people who can barely type take programming work and expect us to do it for them.  I didn't say as much, so as not to be rude, in case this WAS just a poorly run class, but seeing as you asked.....
