how to create registration page and login page

I need to create a app which works as follows

There will be a registration page which is a simple form that includes a username and password field.

Once a user has registered, they can gain access to another particluar page which will require them to enter their newly chosen username and password. Ths page can only be entered after entering their username and password.

This is not a good question. It is a horrible one.
1) There is no question, just some specification topics
2) It is not about something concrete - so you have not tried anything. You expect from us to make everything for you?
3) What kind of application you want: asp.net web forms, asp.net mvc, asp.net web pages, silverlight, wpf, windows forms... php, ruby, delphi... what????
4) Why is XML tag?
5) If this is all the specification of your application - don't even begin: will not have any use.

It needs more and more clarification what is your programming language and then what you know about this programming language ? to start from it
