Reading an EDI file without using a paid third party library

I need to read an EDI file and process the data coming from it. I want to achieve this without a third party paid libraries like EDIDev Framework. all i want is a free technique to read an EDI file. Can anyone help me in this please?

Do you mean this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_data_interchange? If so, which standard? Did you try to find anything?

i have tried EdiDev framework evaluation package but that does not comes as a free solution

The source code attached to the article is in C#!!! ASP.NET is irrelevant...
