We are excited to announce the availability of the TANK AIoT Dev Kit by iEi*, with support for the OpenVINO™ toolkit and Intel® Media SDK.

Ease of Use

The TANK AIoT Developer Kit was built with an understanding of what developers need to immediately start creating powerful AI and computer vision solutions. The kit comes pre-configured to get you started with Intel’s latest SDKs and tools in as short a time as possible. It includes a pre-installed OS with updated drivers, sample code, reference designs, IDEs, and SDKs, eliminating challenges with installation and setup.

Industrial Deployable System

The TANK AIoT Dev. Kit includes an industrial ready workstation for compute intensive workloads. It’s great for use in commercial solutions such as industrial PCs, camera surveillance systems, or data analytics. This fanless system has a wide operating temperature range, from -20C to 60C.

iEi offers a choice of production solutions with either a Intel® Core™ i5 processor or a Intel® Core™ i7 processor that lets you choose the level of compute and expansion capability you need for final deployment, giving you room to scale your solution in the future without replacing hardware.

The TANK has many I/O expansion options:

  • 2 full size PCIe slots
  • 2 mini PCIe slots: 1 full size and 1 half size
  • 8 USB ports
  • 2 LAN ports
  • 6 COM ports
  • An 8-bit digital I/O
  • And more

Software Stack for Advanced Development

The pre-installed OS comes with the OpenVINO™ toolkit, an SDK to integrate deep learning inference. It allows portability and scalability of your software by providing an method to run inference on the CPU, GPU, or other hardware accelerators.

Also included is the Intel® Media SDK, for hardware acceleration of encode and decode of video streams in your applications. By using both of these SDKs, you can create a robust computer vision pipeline that optimizes the workload of your system.

In order to use this software stack, we’ve included two IDEs for development. Intel® System Studio, which comes with an Eclipse-based IDE for going to production and optimizing performance, and Arduino Create* by Arduino* which is a cloud-based IDE for prototyping.

These IDEs complement each other. In fact, if you start with Arduino Create, and want to move your project to Intel® System Studio, you don’t have to start over. You can export your project as a CMake file, and import it into Intel® System Studio using this process.

In addition to these two SDKs, we also include support for connecting to sensors, with the MRAA and UPM open source projects. It also includes various examples for connecting to cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)*, Microsoft Azure*, and Google Cloud Platform*.
