27 Feb 2019 1
Jeff shows you how to configure and start using Intel's Python distribution with Visual Studio Code. He also shows you some of the speed improvements included in the distribution.

This article is in the Product Showcase section for our sponsors at CodeProject. These articles are intended to provide you with information on products and services that we consider useful and of value to developers.

  • Improves the speed of common libraries and algorithms, especially data analytics.
  • New Optimizations in SciPy and NumPy packages provide speedups for scikit-learn
  • Leverages Intel Data Analytics Acceleration Library (Intel DAAL)
  • For some scikit-learn algorithms, performance increase by 140x!

Jeff does an install with the Intel Distribution and then runs a simple benchmark on his machine to see how much of a performance improvement we see by using Intel Thead Building Blocks.
