Introduction

Who is going to bring the snacks to the game?  This project is going to be both a website and mobile website to allow people to keep track of who is going to bring snacks to team games each week.

Background

Scenario 1: Cindy the overworked soccer mom with 2 kids was proud of herself.  She had just made it to the Saturday soccer game and little Jimmy was in his clean uniform.  They were even a little early.  She walked up setting up her chair and realized she was supposed to bring snacks.

If only her team had signed up with Who Brought Snacks?  She would have received a reminder email before the game to get snacks.

Scenario 2: Frank was happy to get away from the office and get to his Friday night softball game.  He looked forward to this all week. He had just locked his computer when his boss came in and hit him with a last minute has to be done project before Frank could take off.  He quickly logged back in to the computer and went straight to Who Brought Snacks?  after logging in he checked that he couldn't bring snacks this week and it sent an update to the team captain that other arrangements would have to be made.

Benefits of Azure

My hope is that with Azure I can start the site small.  Then if it gets any traction I can add servers and capacity as needed.  My other plan is to take advantage of sql azure to allow all the data hosting to be in the cloud as well so I won't need separate sql server licenses which can be pricey for a start up.
