I started my programmer career over 26 years ago doing COBOL and SAS on a MVS mainframe. It didn't take long for me to move into windows programming. I started my windows programming in Delphi (Pascal) with a Microsoft SQL server back end. I started working with vb.net when the beta 2 came out in 2001. After spending most of my programming life as a windows programmer I started to check out asp.net in 2004. I achieved my MCSD.net in April 2005. I have done a lot of MS SQL database stuff. I have a lot of experience with Window Service and Web services as well. I spent three years as a consultant programing in C#. I really enjoyed it and found the switch between vb.net and C# to be mostly syntax. In my current position I am programming in C# working on WPF and MSSql database stuff. Lately I have been using VS2019.
On a personal note I am a born again Christian, if anyone has any questions about what it means to have a right relationship with God or if you have questions about who Jesus Christ is, send me an e-mail. ben.kubicek[at]netzero[dot]com You need to replace the [at] with @ and [dot] with . for the email to work. My relationship with God gives purpose and meaning to my life.

I'm a software architect. I began working in software creation 20+ years ago. I started with VB 3, continued exclusively with Windows development in VB/MS Access until version 6 and then I moved to Microsoft .Net (since its earlier 1.0 version) and SQL Server architecture. Since then, I've worked only with .Net and SQL Server, contributing to the development of a wide range of applications: Windows Forms, Web Forms, Smart Devices, Windows Phone, Silverlight, WPF... But mainly I focus on ASP.Net Web Forms applications and Windows Forms applications. I have a deep knowledge of Win32 API and GDI/GDI+ (hence my favorite namespace: System.Drawing!)
I live in Ciudad Real (Spain), with my loved wife, my 2 precious and smart daughters, my 5 cats and Max, my dog.

Studied Software Development many moons ago, when the sun was still high for Cobol, Fortran, Basic, etc. programmers. However, I found corporate networks and systems more challenging and rewarding than sitting behind a desk all day long doing mostly maintenance on code. Mainframes were the super computers at the time and Tatung made very fancy desktop computers and to soop them up you had to have a TsengLabs VGA card, EGA CRT and a SoundBlaster sound card installed into the system - only then could you call yourself a Boss!
Later in life I reached a turning point where the saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none" became my driving force. I will do everything I know nothing about. Since then, life has become an adventure and not just a journey.
At the moment I write software tools to connect users with disconnected data.
