"nor has it been seen employed in malware campaigns"
What's the point since most people are admins on their own computer? Who we need to watch out for are those teenage hoodlums. And my dad.

I thought the same thing, but if you assign Guest as admin, anyone could log into that system as Guest and be anonymous on the system. Home systems wouldn't be an issue so much as that Windows servers are also affected. Having anonymous admin access on a server is a black-hat wet dream.

This document provides a peek into what's next for Visual Studio. It captures some of the significant features we are currently committed to, and a rough timeframe for when you can expect to see them. MAYBE WE CAN GET THOSE GREAT MENUS BACK?

I thought they reverted them? I’ve just been using Code so long, I can’t remember what 2017 looks like. Fortunately.

It looks nice and it's pretty snappy too! Tools | Options | Environment has a new checkbox, "Apply title case styling to menu bar" which is thankfully checked by default.

I don't see the benefits of using VSCode to actually write code.
It might be a lack of familiarity, but you'd think they would provide some sort of migration path for people that are coming from Visual Studio that still think in terms of solutions/projects, especially in Linux.

Can't imagine the parallel universe where Eclipse is preferred over JetBrains.
|
|
|
|
|
The one where:
0) Any time an eclipse user on the project adds a code (any?) file, it breaks the jetbrains build until you manually update the project file.
1) 99.99999% of all how to do X in Java articles assume eclipse, and 0% explain how to do it in jetbrains and figuring out how to deal with hyper user hostile java tools (aka all of them to my C# brain) in jetbrains from eclipse instructions was good for wasting a day of my life every time.
2) One of the environments where testing/debugging is done I couldn't install jetbrains, which meant I had to know how to do it in eclipse anyway.
The last finally pushed me over, but I'd already been wavering from frustration over 0 and the cumulative time being lost to 1) being higher than the expected slow down due to eclipse sucking.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Most of the world's Internet users lost access to YouTube for several hours Sunday after an attempt by Pakistan's government to block access domestically affected other countries. What do they have against cat videos?

Kent, not sure if you are aware, but that article was written on Feb 26th, 2008. ABC didn't date the article, but read the comments. There is an ongoing joke how this article is good for all of the YouTube outages since 2008. The first comment is dated April 1st, 2014. The next is August 28th, 2014.
[EDIT]
Just Google the title. It's hilarious! This same article is used to describe almost every YouTube outage since 2008.

Yeah, I remember those days when there were legal actions being taken against YouTube, and when reading the title I was like, again?
I believe the picture shared by CodeProject page was more of a summary of this outage.

The problem is that quantum communication is currently limited by how much information single photons can help send securely, called a "secret bit rate." Purdue University researchers created a new technique that would increase the secret bit rate 100-fold, to over 35 million photons per second. “Do you guys put the word quantum in front of everything?”

Every time you send a qubit of information, the Universe will split into two. In one Universe, the information is transmitted successfully. In the other the transmission failed.
