I posted a macro in this article...

...and I got a lot of suggestions from readers, which has resulted in a much improved macro. Now I'd like to update the article to include the new stuff, but I don't have a link to modify the article since it went from "Unedited Reader Contributions" to a live status.
How do I modify my articles after they go "live" ?

Oh please. Nobody ever reads *my* documentation either. 
fwiw, it would be nice if an author could directly edit his text as he sees fit. I know you guys already have the machinery in place, because I could do it before the article was moved from "Unedited Reader Contributions".

Well I think this is so because you can write basically whatever you want in "Unedited Reader Contributions" URC (when you submit an article via Submission wizzard)... Articles outside URC should be censored (kid sister safe), formatted etc

When you submit an article via the wizard, there is a text-box where you can enter additional info for the editors where you can specify that you want the article to be left unedited until a certain date.
E.g. "Please leave this unedited until Jan 26 2005"

As I see you only have Windowze languages. Ie you only have Visual C++ and not ANSI/ISO C++. I'm runing Linux on y computer, and I will be happy to find stuff about ANSI/ISO C++, not Microsofts incompatible VS C++. (I dont hate MS, but I like to reed standard compilance guides, that work with my compiler, on my OS.)
But maby I'm way off on totaly wrong site. (plese suggest the right one then)
Wouldn't that be nice for you to have guides for not only Microsofts platforms if you call yourself a cross platform code project.

If you look at the page header on any of the articles[^], you'll see that CP is "Your Visual Studio.NET Homepage", not "Your ANSI/ISO C++ Homepage".
In all seriousness, I don't frequent any other developer sites besides this one. Perhaps you can try the forums at DevShed[^] or SitePoint[^]. If all else fails, try one of the C++ newsgroups.
Try your luck here. There are a lot of people who know quite a bit about ANSI/ISO C++.

Does anybody know about any code that can take a screenshot of a just a specified window? Like give it the handle to it, and then take a screenshot of it?
I can't get the one on this site "ImageCapture" or whatever to work very good. And the window has to be on top. I want one that can take a shot even if it's minimized.
Any ideas?

Sorry if this has already been posted (I did a quick search).
I'd like to see a facility for being notified if an article or it's associated source is updated by the author.
This would be very useful for those people using the source in their projects, allowing them to keep up with the latest versions, and in my case remembering if the article that has been updated is one I use code from (hey I'm getting old(er)).

Nope, no good.
I use 2 different computers (work and home) and 4 different browsers. Plus that would mean I have to do some work  looking them up.
Being notified when an article changes means that I would go find out what the changes are.

I think Mr. prakash meant the "bookmarking feature here on CP"
You can bookmark your favorite articles, and check the list for "updated" from time to time.
Reducing the input from "checkbox for each article" to one checkbox "inform me when one of my bookmarked articles gets updated" would be good, though

The article was about following the author in making a graphical package in c# with OOP. He was saying that there will be more than one article about this.
And I didn't post any comment

I know the idea of showing all of Code Project's To Do list has been turned down, but is there a place that lists all the changes once they have been made (kind of like a new features list)?

Since the number of HTML tags which are recognised by CodeProject is so limited, can you please change the logic for dealing with them?
They should only be treated as tags if they are a recognised HTML tag.
It's just *so* painful when using C++ code involving templates. I've seen so many posts where
vector < int > x;
became
vector x;
Newbies get caught out on this all the time.
Instead, you could treat it as if the 'do not treat <'s as tags' was selected, then do a search-and-replace operation for "@lt;CODE@gt;", replacing it with "<CODE>", etc. This would only require a few lines of ASP code.
(Replace @ with ampersand in the above example).
This would greatly reduce the number of undecipherable posts in C++ forums!

I have been told that it is permissible to publish articles using Microsoft closed-source software, but it is not permissible to publish articles using other free closed-source tools, except under Product Showcase? Even if permissible it seems to be distasteful for most members. Is there any good place to post such articles, here or at another site?
Also, my request for rates on the Product Showcase received no response.

Please disallow anonymous comments on articles. Here I am speaking of not just "true" anonymous comments, I am speaking of comments made by anyone that cannot be traced back to a real name. It is very easy to create a temporary user id just to post a temporary comment.
This would restrict comments to people who are willing to put their name behind the comment, and reduce abusive/garbage comments. This is especially important if you wish to increase the number of women who post articles on CodeProject.
