The usual MDI interface involves Document-View and an MDIChildWnd right? I want to attach the View not on Frame Windows but on Control Bars... For Example i want to put my View on a Control Bar that looks like a the Solution Explorer on Visuall C++ .NET..
Has anyone made a public code for this? or read an article regarding this one?

Hello Friends,
I am using Rich edit controls in my application and for that reason I am using AfxInitRichEdit() member function for their initialization. So Whenever my application executes a beep sound is played which I don't require it. One of my friend told that the beep sound may be due to AfxInitRichEdit() member function and it is one of the disadvantage. If it is right then please help me regarding this matter How can i stop the beep sound without removing the Rich edit controls.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Friends,
a beep sound is coming whenever my application is started. I don't want to have this beep sound.
BOOL CMMTRansApp::InitInstance()
{
AfxEnableControlContainer();
AfxInitRichEdit();
// Standard initialization
// If you are not using these features and wish to reduce the size
// of your final executable, you should remove from the following
// the specific initialization routines you do not need.
#ifdef _AFXDLL
Enable3dControls(); // Call this when using MFC in a shared DLL
#else
Enable3dControlsStatic(); // Call this when linking to MFC statically
#endif
// Change the registry key under which our settings are stored.
// TODO: You should modify this string to be something appropriate
// such as the name of your company or organization.
SetRegistryKey(_T("Local AppWizard-Generated Applications"));
LoadStdProfileSettings(); // Load standard INI file options (including MRU)
// Register the application's document templates. Document templates
// serve as the connection between documents, frame windows and views.
CSingleDocTemplate* pDocTemplate;
pDocTemplate = new CSingleDocTemplate(
IDR_MMTRANS_MENU,
RUNTIME_CLASS(CMMTRansDoc),
RUNTIME_CLASS(CMainFrame), // main SDI frame window
RUNTIME_CLASS(CMMTRansView));
AddDocTemplate(pDocTemplate);
// Parse command line for standard shell commands, DDE, file open
CCommandLineInfo cmdInfo;
ParseCommandLine(cmdInfo);
// Dispatch commands specified on the command line
if (!ProcessShellCommand(cmdInfo))
return FALSE;
// The one and only window has been initialized, so show and update it.
m_pMainWnd->ShowWindow(SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED);
return TRUE;
}
when I debugged it I had found that When the if condition
if( !ProcessShellCommand(cmdInfo))
is executed the beep sound is coming. The same application is not giving any beep sound for my other application. Please help regarding this matter how to stop this beep sound.
thanks in advance.

a. does anyone know how to push a frame in the middle of a stream?
b. suppose I have a stream with a given size of frames, now I want to replace the first N frame with other frames, how do I do that and keep the rest of the frames unchanged? (starting to write again from start causing the player to think there are only the new N frames)
thanks,
Guy.

I'm working on a piece of software in VC++ 6, which basically connects to an ACCESS database using ADO/ADOX and displays the data from the database to a MSFLEXGRID control.
It works fine. I have written the code so that each record can be selected and that data is passed back to the main form.
Now its a matter of aestetics that I have a problem with. It seems like the MSFLEXGRID control is a bit short of features. I'm trying to figure out a way for the user to be able to reorder the columns by dragging the headings. MSFLEXGRID does not seem to support this in any particular way.
I have a few ideas (hacks), which I think I could use to work around the problem, but I was wondering if there's some other magic control that I'm not aware of thats better and can be used in Visual C++ 6 (no .NET). I looked at Datagrid, but it doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for.
Another problem I have is in implementing a right-click context menu to the Flexgrid. On the right mouse button event, the context menu is only triggered if the current mouse selected cell is a header, but what then happens is that it also responds to the event (strangely) if you right click _above_ the heading cells (outside the flexgrid control), although below is no problem. I have no idea why this is happening and yet another reason why I would want to know if there is anything better out there.
I looked to no avail.
Must emphasize: VC++ 6 only
its a struggle

Surely something must exist, such as the grids that Windows Explorer itself uses?

Hi
Could you provide me some resources (Like example, source code) to make global hotkeys in MFC?
Thanks in advance.

How to use RegisterHotKey () for ("Ctrl+Alt+p" and "Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O")?
here both nIDFirst and nIDSecond= integer
this->nIDFirst=GlobalAddAtom("IDFORFIRSTDIALOG");
this->nIDSecond=GlobalAddAtom("IDFORSECONDDILAOG");
//register Hot key
//for Ctrl+Alt+p
::RegisterHotKey(this->m_hWnd ,this->nIDFirst,MOD_ALT|MOD_CONTROL,0x50);
//Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O
::RegisterHotKey(this->m_hWnd ,this->nIDSecond,MOD_ALT|MOD_CONTROL|MOD_SHIFT,0x4F);
How to call dialog box pressing hotkey?
a) If we press "Ctrl+Alt+p" then one dialog Box should be appeared.
b) If we press "Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O" then another dialog box should be appeared.
//Now in MessageMap entry
BEGIN_MESSAGE_MAP(CClassDlg,CDialog)
ON_MESSAGE(WM_HOTKEY,OnHotKey)
END_MESSAGE_MAP()
//Actual function
void CClassDlg::OnHotKey(WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam)
{
if(wParam==this->nIDFirst)
MessageBox("Ctrl+Alt+p");
if(wParam==this->nIDSecond)
MessageBox("Ctrl+Alt+Shift+O");
}

In the VC++ 6, Project->Settings dialog have a drop down box for MFC settings, it offers two options "Use MFC in a Shared DLL" and "Use MFC in a static Dll".
A friend told me that using "Use MFC in a static Dll" option extracts code from all dlls (built by ur self and those who are part of VC and OS) used by the project; and inserts in the exe file; so the same dlls may not be needed on the target plateform i.e. it makes exe file all in all, and using "Use MFC in a shared Dll" demands all dlls to be depoloyed on target plateform in order to run the exe.
Is the above said is true?
More features these options offer?
Please Help?

You can do that when using a makefile, and using inside the "/I" option of the compiler cl.exe
