The documentation and QuickStart samples with this ApplicationBlock would probably be a good place to start, don't you think?

How do you access a winform in CLASS FORM1 from CLASS FORM2 (form1 is calling form2)?
this is what I would like to do.
FORM1 will have the winform .
FORM2 will have the controls to create at run time...this controls will show on the screen of Form1.
So far what I have:
FORM1 is calling FORM2 as
popForm1.form_load(Me)
and in FORM2 I am trying creating the controls:
Public Sub form_load(ByVal pf2 As Form)
dim NEWCTRL as new textbox
NEWCTRL.name = "ctrl1"
...
HERE IS WHAT i WANT FORM1.panel1.CONTROLS.ADD(NEWCTRL)
the FORM1 has a Panel1 that I dont know how to add my newctrl to FORM1.PANEL1
THANKS

If I understood you want to open a form inside another form, to do this you should set the Form1 property IsMdiContainer to true.
Then I use this code to manage the opening:
Dim MyForm As New Form1
MyForm.MdiParent() = Me
MyForm.Show()
If you want to access from child form to parent : me.parentform.
I'm neewie, I hope not to confuse instead help

thats all about trying...
Yeap, it is correct what you said, but I want to refer to the controls of FORM1 from FORM2.
how do you get to change one of the properties of any control of FORM1 while you are in FORM2.
|
|
|
|
|
just about right...
try to refence Me.ParentForm1.textbox from FORM2...
that's the How do I do that.
what do you pass as a param to FORM2.

If you want to add a control:
Me.ParentForm.Controls.Add(value as system.windows.forms.control)
------------
If you know the control's name (Textbox1) you can use the for... next as i wrote.
Dim ctr As New Control
for each ctr in me.parentform.controls
if ctr.name="ControlIwantTochange" then
'instructions
ctr.text="Whatever"
end if
next
------------
If you want to change every control:
For Each ctr In Me.Parentform.Controls
Select Case UCase(thisObj.GetType.Name)
Case "TEXTBOX"
'code
end select
next

|
|
|
|
|
' Make popup form reference public
' Make Panel Control Public on the popup form
now fom here you can do
popupform.panelcontrol.controls.add (NewCTRL)

Hey Guys
I'm having problems serializing an class that has an object property, even though the object in the instance of that class is serializable. I've cut the code down to demonstrate:
Option Strict On
<Serializable()> Public Class Test
Public Sub New()
End Sub
Dim m_text As String
Public Property Text() As String
Get
Return m_text
End Get
Set(ByVal Value As String)
m_text = Value
End Set
End Property
End Class
<Serializable()> Public Class TestTag
Public Sub New()
End Sub
Dim m_text As String
Public Property Text() As String
Get
Return m_text
End Get
Set(ByVal Value As String)
m_text = Value
End Set
End Property
Dim m_tag As Object
Public Property Tag() As Object
Get
Return m_tag
End Get
Set(ByVal Value As Object)
m_tag = Value
End Set
End Property
End Class
Public Class StartUp
Public Shared Sub Main()
Dim ser As New Xml.Serialization.XmlSerializer(GetType(TestTag))
Dim file As New System.IO.StreamWriter("c:\temp\test.xml")
Dim obj1 As New TestTag
Dim obj2 As New Test
obj1.Text = "TestTag Object"
obj2.Text = "Test Object"
obj1.Tag = obj2
ser.Serialize(file, obj1)
file.Close()
MsgBox("Object Serialized")
End Sub
End Class
Really, all i think all i need to do is change the Tag property of the TagTest class to an type that is know to be serialized, i have tried ISerializable but it don't want to know.
Failing that, i assume i'll just have to implement ISerializable on the TagTest class, but it seems a lot of work just for the one property.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Try try tagging the classes <serializable()>.
<serializable()> _
Public Class Test
....
<serializable()> _
Public Class TestTag
....
If that doesn't work you may have to declare the Tag property Test.

according to my understanding ..
if your checkbox array name is chk then you can access it through
you can check the number of check boxes through
chk.length and in for loop
Dim count as integer
for count=0 to chk.length-1
chk(count).checked=true
next

I use vb6.0 to develop a application.
There is two function which could exit from the application.
The first, in menu , close threads and call unload me.
The second, in Form_Unload, just close threads.
The threads is some new operation about database.I have to set nothing to them.
If I exit from menu, all things are good.
If I exit by point the cross on the right above of the form,the form disappear. However , the process is still in the memory. I have to kill it myself.
How to solve the problem?
Thanks!

I supose vb6 has closing event, you can set the code there.
|
|
|
|
|
There is not close event in a VB6 form.
All the events about exit is :
QueryUnload
Unload
Terminate
I tried these events above, no help.
