Hi, I work with my computer and delete some file to the recycle bin. Then delete it from the recycle bin, now I want to get that file again. I know it is a little bit difficult to do that, but as far as I know there are some utilities that could get the file that we delete/empty from the recycle bin. Does anyone know which is a good utilities that could restore the file that has been deleted from the recycle bin?

You may well use Cleansweep that comes with Norton Systemworks. It's a really resource consuming business but it works!

We need to retrieve the names of the installed programs on the win2000 pro OS and the whole pathes of the corresponding executive files as well. It is very like what the "open with" dialog does and it would be great if our list is the same as the one which the dialog offers. I know our work should do something with the reg, but after a disturbing examining on it, I still can't find out a general solution. When I think I got the rule, there would be a exception. Please give me some advices, every single word of your answer will be appreciated. Much thanks.

You could do what the Add/Remove Programs applet does, enum the keys under HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall . Keys that have both DisplayName and UninstallString values are listed in the add/remove list.

I have a server with 2 NIC cards with one NIC connected to a live connection and the other one is not connected.
I am running an application on port 80 with a dedication IP address on one NIC. Now I also want to host a website on the server and my plan is to bind IIS to the other (unused NIC) and assign that NIC a dedicated IP as well.
My hosting company tells me that it may cause problems with packet loss and stuff if both NICs are on the same subnet. Is what i'm trying to do really possible??

I used to see the computer that have two network is run as the router. But I never see that two network card but allow only one to run. But anyway, this is the situation at your work place.

The purpose of router is making the connection between two network section which a difference of network ID. According to my experience of sharing the internet many places, use router or 2 NIC in a single machine with a differnce of network ID. That make your subnet mask is difference too. Most of it is one NIC is connect to the public IP address which provide by your ISP and another one is connecto to your LAN. So in my opinion, using 2 NIC which has the same network ID is less it function of your internet sharing.

Hi all! I realize this site is geared towards Windows development, but I thought someone might be able to help me. I'm writing a linux (fedora) console program in c++, where I can control the cursor through a little maze. I want to use the arrow keys on my keyboard to move the cursor, however, I'm not sure how to do this, and I have had a lot of trouble googling up an answer. I thought I would merely getch() an ascii value, and it would be simple, but i came to learn that the values aren't ascii and are different from OS to OS. Anyway, any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I have a server hosted by a web hosting company and i've been given remote desktop access to it. The thing is that i need to install office on it.
Is there a way to do that remotely or do i have to ask my web company to do it?

If you're using Remote Desktop Connection (mstsc), you can share your local drives with the remote computer. On the connection dialog, click the Options button, go to the Local Resources tab and check Disk Drives under Local Devices.
Of course it will take quite a while to install Office over a slow connection, so physical access to the server would generally be better!

Check with your network administrator whether your have an appropriate user right to install software on that server. If you have, then make sure that you network connection is good enought to handle the remote installation.
