I have DOTNET project that connect to excel through RTD. After some time say 2 week the excel lose the connection to RTD component
I will be thankful if any body guide me how to solve this problem or how to fiend the reason of it

Well, there's nothing we can tell you since you haven't provided any useful information about the component RTD is connecting to. Is this a component that you wrote or a third party? What does this component do? We would also need to know about any error messages that are thrown.

I have an application written in VB6 that allow others to write plugins in the form of an ActiveX control. Now I want to allow dotnet usercontrols as plugins as well.
There are examples on the net of how to expose a windows forms usercontrol to COM as an ActiveX control. Although not actually supported by the framework, these seem to work if the usercontrol is loaded in a VB6 form. However, when the dotnet usercontrol is loaded inside a VB6 usercontrol, arrow keys stop working. Apparently they are interpreted as tabs (even if focus is in a textbox or listbox).
Now my question is, first, is there a way to solve this? Any pointers would be appreciated.
Second, since this is not really supported and I already have seen problems, I'm getting worried about more problems ahead. Is there anyone who has used dotnet usercontrols in VB6? Does it work well, or are there other problems that will appear later?

PLease let me know the provider or the connectionstring i should use to
read a .dbf file.
The oledb provider i am using works fine if there is no memo field in the
.dbf( i.e .fpt file)
But fails if .fpt is present

Take a look in the System.Drawing namespace which contains classes for drawing anything you like on a form or usercontrol.

Well, first of all you need to write an ASP.NET site. I'd recommend using C#, because it sounds like you need a lot of help, and there are a lot more people answering C# questions, and C# samples, here on this site.

You can filter via IP, or set up a password system, whichever suits you better.

Thanks for the opinion, but my project is using Visual Basic and database is Access. My project dateline will be in a few wks time. Hence I dont think there will be time for me to merge from one programming platform to another.
I will stick to VB and Access. Any help from the rest?

Do you mean VB6, or VB.NET ? If VB6, you're screwed. If VB.NET, you can still use ASP.NET, but you'll find less help online, at least here.
Why do you have a project on for which you have 2 weeks, and not the faintest idea how to do it ?

hello...i've use the datagrid which is bounded with the textbox...however,when i tried to view what i've develop in the browser,the datagrid will not appear.
i've tried many things to make it appear but there is no avail.can somebody please show me how to fix it??? =(

First, since you mentioned "browser", your question really belongs in the ASP.NET Forum, not VB.NET.
Second, fix what? Be sure to include a code snippet in your post so we can see what's going on and how your doing things.

I would like to add a progress bar to the app for the user, simple! But how do I measure the values needed to feed the nim and max values to the progress bar comtrol? Will I need to compare size of the directories and match from there????

If your going to use the File System Object CopyFolder method, you really can't add a meaningfull progress bar since CopyFolder will not fire any events you can subscribe to to update your progress bar. A couple of alternatives would be to fire off the Copy process you find in Explorer, which has its own progress bar, or write your own Copy function that can track the number of files/bytes it needs to copy and update a progress bar itself. Using the code you have now, you can't add a progress bar to it.

In VB6, MoveLast is an method of Adodb.Recordset. Can anybody tell me that what is the alternate function in VB.NET. Because in Vb.net, this function is not available.

there is no corresponding/alternate method in vb.net.
i'd suggest you read up on ado.net (overview, samples) a little (or alot). ado.net is a subset of the .net bcl that can be used to work with data and data structures.

In ADO.NET objects are now treated as collections. To move to the last row in a dataset you can retrieve the .Rows.Count property, and then access the last row by index like a VB6 collection.
Just remember that unlike old VB6 collections, the ADO.NET collections are zero based , so you would access the last row by selection of
.Rows(.Rows.Count-1))

I program in vb.net and use T-sql. I want to get into web development and i have heard about These development languages: vb.net , c#, c++/c.net , Asp/Asp.net , XML, XSLT, HTML , DHTML , T-sql , com , com +
and these platforms : Ms Sql 2000 , my sql, microsoft IIS
the picture that i have is very convoluted as to what i need to learn in order to be able to develop web sites that can be dynamically linked to a remote sql server.
Any help and advise that you can give me with regards to development capabilities that i need to learn to achieve this task would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible that you will need to learn all of them but you can focus on two or three and it all depends on what you are comfortable with. I suggest start to learn HTML then ASP.net and since you already know VB.net use this as your code behind language or more popular c# if you want to learn. Not really much to it since you already know how to code. You should also learn javascript for cleint side coding. Pick up an html and asp.net book and navigate the pages of CP.

Has anyone ever tried to code a piece of software to browse his bank(hsbc for instance) accounts, buy sell stock shares thru this software. This software is not meant to be only with ASP.NET, it can also be built using MFC or any other related libraries of .NET framework or previous Microsoft related libraries. I have got a similar piece of code in Java, however I would like to study its .NET version, what would it be like and what libraries of framework would be used, what methods be called to make a connection to the bank's server, browse accounts and buy and sell stock shares. I am trying to code a non-asp version of it for http://www.hsbc.com.tr/. Does anyone have any idea. I would later automatize my buying and selling thru some technical indicators..

You say you have "a similar piece of code in Java." Does that mean that you have a working program that actually accesses your bank accounts and does what you want?

Well, yes. it is working piece of code(a bunch of classes) but going obsolete and needs to be updated. one of my friends coded it, did not continue to complete the backend decision making mechanism to decide when to buy/sell, what to buy/sell.
basically, it submits login, pass, pin number and makes a connection.
I dont know if the bank would provide me with an API to simplify my task, but i would like to know if anyone with background both in finance and programming ever tried to program such a code, any comment would be appreciated.

i am able to capture image of a visible form,when i click on a button
the image of the form is saved.the problem is i have to do the same for a
hidden form,but i am not able to do it.what happens is this,when i click on
the button the form which is on the top its image is saved.i am using bitblt
for copying from hdc of form to hdc of bitmap.pls help me

This seems to be a popular question lately.
If it is hidden, it is not drawn at all. There is no "hidden grphics buffer" to BitBlt from. Therefore, there is nothing to capture.
