Hello there
I have build an image viewer. where user can zoomIn and Zoom Out with some other functionalities.. The problem is when I zoom In or Zoom out the image , I am unable to get the exact location where user clicked on the image as it gives me the location (e.X )on mouse down event of picture box which is the location of picture box where user clicked. but when image is zoomed it internally zooms the pixels. so my location to image control becomes different then the pixel where user exactly clicked on. So when I need to Draw a Circle or Rectangle on that clicked location it appears some where else.
details for zoomIn ::::
picImage.SizeMode = PictureBoxSizeMode.StretchImage
picImage.Width = width + 100
picImage.Height = Height + 100
Can any body tell me the solution for this ??????
to get the X and Y on image when user clicks on the Image Control.

Yeah, you know the zoom factor, and the scroll position, so do some maths to convert the point you clicked to a point on the image.

Hi, I’m preesteya. I’m one of researcher at technical university.
I’m using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003. I created an application using VB.NET. Now I must send .exe of my application for testing. How to create .exe file? As I know every time a program get debug using VB.NET the .exe file will be created in bin folder. But my case I can’t get the .exe file. Can somebody help me please?
Many Thanks

I'm using NET 2002, but I don't think the IDE changed much:
From IDE menu, select
Build>>Configuration Manager. A dialog is displayed that aloows you to set the active build to release version.

It should be either in MyProjectDir\bin\Debug or MyProjectDir\bin\Release. If not right click your main project (the bold one) and click preferences. Search a bit... the settings where the build output is going to can be changed here.
btw: Dont forget that the tester needs the framework in order to start your executable

Hi,
Right click on project and what's the Output Type .....
It should be Windows Application and check the
Configuration Properties-->Build-->Output Path where exe is created.......
I hope this will help u................

I was wondering if anyone has some good resources on how to create a .NET component that is accessible by using VBScript and Classic ASP. I know this is possible according to some of the things I've read, but I can't seem to find and actual implementation guides.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

You can create COM components in .NET, which is the only way I can imagine this working.

On top of what Cristian said, the machine will have to have the .NET Framework installed just to use your component. You might want to start reading up on Exposing .NET Framework Components to COM[^].

Thank's for the information. The problem I am having is exposing it to VBScript. Whenever I use the following command I get a non-descript error:
Set PageRender = Server.CreateObject("MC.PageRenderer")
Here is my code. I'm trying to keep it simple until I understand how to implement it.
<Guid("3BFA03FD-B85D-48de-A9E8-FAE266B2D809"), _

<DispId(2)> Function GetNews(ByVal Width As Integer, ByVal Heading As String, ByVal IsImage As Boolean) As String
<DispId(3)> Property Action() As String
<DispId(4)> Property SubCommand() As String

End Interface

Public Function ChooseContent(ByVal CalWidth As Integer, ByVal CalHeight As Integer) As String Implements _PageRender.ChooseContent

End Function
Public Function GetNews(ByVal Width As Integer, ByVal Heading As String, ByVal IsImage As Boolean) As String Implements _PageRender.GetNews
End Function
Public Property ID() As Integer Implements _PageRender.ID
Get
End Get
Set(ByVal Value As Integer)
End Set
End Property
Public Property SubCommand() As String Implements _PageRender.SubCommand

Do I need to register this assembly with the global cache?

If you going to share this thing with a bunch of different evnironments and applications, then yes, I'd put in the GAC. Also, you'll have to use RegAsm to register the assembly for COM use.

If you are getting the "Can't create Activex Component" error is because you either:
a. did not register the component for COM use
b. did not copy the component to the same directory where the calling program is located.
All the information you need is found in the resources already mentioned by other people.

PLease let me know the provider or the connectionstring i should use to
read a .dbf file.
|
|
|
|
|
I used the Microsoft Visual Fox Pro driver which can be found somewhere on Microsofts site.
The connection string is really simple:
<br />
"Provider=vfpoledb;Data Source=C:\\DataDir;"<br />
Note that the path you give is NOT the filename but the directory where it lies in. When formulating SQLs the filename (without extension) will be your tablename.

Hi, I am trying to get Windows media player to play when a certin condition in my program happens. I have a playlist that i would like it to play. Does anyone know how to code this so it gets my playlist then starts playing when these conditions are met? So far the only thing i can do is do auto play but i dont want it to start playing as soon as the program starts. Please any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Please feel free to email me answers at iamydd@bellsouth.net
Thanks in advanced

Turn off the autoplay option, and then call the play method, which I think is on the controls property.

You wouldnt happen to know what it is called once inside the controls property would you? Because I can't seem to find one that will work. If anyone knows where i could find out how to do this or if you know how to do this please let me know.
Again, Thanks

hihi,
I am creating a datagrid and i wanted to display all the values that i retrieve from the database. I was able to do this. However, i need to add a checkbox into one of the columns. This checkbox is not binded or link to the database, it is use for my own reference. I was wondering how can i create this checkbox into the datagrid without any mappingname. Hope someone can help me with this. Thank You..

I assume you are wokring with DataTables/DataSets. If yes, you will have to add a column to the DaatTable where you want the extra column in the grid to appear. I think there is no other way.

Hi there,
I am still relatively new to vb programming, and after migrating to vb.net, I have come across a problem.
I am wanting to store the details of around 15 FTP servers. The plan is to populate a treeview with the server's names, and show the corresponding hostnames, port, username, password and notes in the textboxes (similar to FlasFXPs interface).
However, I would have previously used the "Type" object, and then set up an array based on that type. Example :
=========================
Private Type FTPSitesType
ServerName As String
Hostname As String
Username As String
Password As String
Port as Long
Dim my_FTPSites(1 To 15) As FTPSitesType.
========================
I am trying to do the same thing within a class, but I can't seem to get any results, nor think of a google search query that will actually return something helpful.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Mason
