All that code just to do this?!?!
Private Sub btnBrowse_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnBrowse.Click
Dim strMyDocsPath As String = Environment.GetFolderPath(Environment.SpecialFolder.Personal)
OpenFileDialog1.InitialDirectory = strMyDocsPath
OpenFileDialog1.ShowDialog()
End Sub

Thanks, did not know about the Environment class. NET 2002 contains no support for the folder browser, so I accustomed to doing everything with the the shell APIs.

Hi can any one help me?
I have got a varible length array and need to find out its length. The way I have made the array is
dim Array() as string
Redim Array(Varible)
Thanks for any help on this.
|
|
|
|
|
By length, do you mean how many items it contains or the total number of all characters in all items in the array?
|
|
|
|
|
I mean the total number of items in the array
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
If you want to get the number of items present in the array you can use UBound(ArrName)
|
|
|
|
|
you defined your array by redim.
In there you assigned the size by using the variable.
I would check the variable to get the size of the array
note that indexing starts at 0, so if you assign 5 to the variable, the size of the array is 6.
So in general: The size of your array is "variable+1".
I hope I did not missinterpret your question!

Hi every one
I have a little problem with this issue. I have a Crystal Report Document with parameters (You know every time when you open it, With Crystal Report, a paremeters appears), When I try to open it using VB.net the parameters popup screen shows. My question is
How can i put the parameters into the code in vb.net for disable the parameters popup screen ?
Thanks
This is my code for the parameters. (doesn't work)
Dim paramFields As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterFields<br />
Dim paramField As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterField<br />
Dim paramRange As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ParameterDiscreteValue<br />
<br />
paramField.ParameterFieldName = "FromDates"<br />
paramRange.Value = "01/01/2005"<br />
paramField.CurrentValues.Add(paramRange)<br />
paramFields.Add(paramField)<br />
<br />
Me.CrystalReportViewer1.ParameterFieldInfo = paramFields

Hi
I am currently trying to open an excel file using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("ExcelFileName").
It works correctly in general, but if the installed machine
has excel 2000, it opens excel but the file never opens
and the cells are empty. Is this a bug with Office 2000?
What can be done?

Hi,
I am trying to create a form with the following
attributes:
1. A sizable border
2. Close button
3. No icon in the upper left hand corner
All of this can be accomplished using the Sizable
FormBorderStyle, but the icon remains. Does anyone know how to do this?

IIRC, since the form is sizable, you can't get rid of the icon using properties. I think your going to have to owner draw the title bar of the form. I DON'T have any example code, nor do I know of any. But, in theory, it's possible to do. Look into overriding WndProc and handling the WM_NCPAINT message.

What if form is not resizable?

The only ones that support no icon in the upper left corner are the ToolWindows and None borders.

If you just don't want to see an icon, the simplest way is to just create a transparent 16x16 icon file and select that for the form's icon. Of course the title will still be offset the same, and the drop down menu will appear if the user clicks in the space.
If you want to get rid of all those, you'll have to custom draw the title area. But if you just want a no icon appearance, a transparent icon is far easier.

Additional examples in Visual Basic for Report Sharp-Shooter have been created! They demonstrate the functionalities of the most flexible report generator available on the market. These examples will really help you to take a closer look at Report Sharp-Shooter, to get to know and comprehend entirely the capabilities and properties of this product. They may become necessary if you want to scrutinize the Report Sharp-Shooter when creating the applications employing Visual Basic.

Congratulations, Maria. You just alienated your target audience. I suggest you pay for some advertising on this site, otherwise, I guarentee that the majority of people who read this will assume that you're

Maybe it would be wise to read up on the terms "net-iquette" and "acceptable use for programming forums"
