Use GetClassName API function to retrieve the HWND class name.

Simple question - does anyone know what the block size of the filesystem on a storage card on an MS Smartphone is? Is it even system defined, or is it likely to vary depending on the device or storage card being used?
I'm basically developing a PC app that copies files to a Smartphone using RAPI, but am having problems as the size a file occupies, and its reported size are never the same (due to the block size)
I'm using OpenNETCF.Desktop.Communications for the RAPI work, and have been unable to find any way of either reading the actual free space on the device, or any kind of information about the filesystem.

Hello all,
This is my 1st post a a member for a few months now.. Love the site...
OK.. I am trying to execute other applications (user has check boxes to select the function) on the PPC via the following:
CreateProcess(@"\windows\fexplore.exe",@"myPathAndExeHere",... other args...);
Note I am utilising:
[DllImport("CoreDll.dll")] to get CreateProcess.
It works really well, except that fexplore process remains running, even though the app I called has finished...
I can't proceed to any other apps I want to call, until fexplore is finished...
SO... what I am thinking I need to do is somehow scan to see if "File Explorer" is running {somehow} and "Stop" that/those process(es)..
Could anyone give me any insights?
Will be <GREATLY> appreciated.
TIA

Hi, is there a way to enumerate the controls (or simply get the first, then the next..) of a CDialog?
(please don't answer: "try enumwindows..." and if you do, please tell me if it really works for what I need - I suppose enumwindows is no way what I need)

The solution is to use GetWindow . I usually use it on its API version. You must first use:
HWND hWndFirstChild = GetWindow(hWndDlg, GW_CHILD);
Next, you iterate all the siblings.
HWND hWndNext = hWndFirstChild;
hWndNext = GetWindow(hWndNext, GW_HWNDNEXT);
You should get a NULL when the enumeration finishes.
The behavior is the same with the MFC versions of the method.

thank u very much... I'd like to specify this:
my original idea was to find a way to create a subclass for CDialog... what I want all my dialogs to do is to "SetWindowPos" every controls in a certain way. So ... I thought this: i could use a CMyDialog, derived from CDialog (is this possible?) ... where i get with
::OnCtlColor(CDC* pDC, CWnd* pWnd, UINT nCtlColor)
..the handles of every controls this way:
int myID;
pDC->GetDlgItem(myID);
and I could use these HANDLES anyway I like.. but...
the problem is: is it possible to subclass CDialog?
is this a bad idea... and why?

Hello,
I am quite new to C++, and I was wondering what template do I choose in Visual C++ .Net 2003 to create a smart device application?
If it is just a regular windows forms application, which includes do I use?
Thanks,

Hi,
You can find "smart device project" under c# projects and under VB projects.
You can't create smart device application with C++ under .NET.

Hi,
i develop a .NET Windows application on a Win CE platform.
i do not know if my problem is a common bug, but i found no solution.
Within my application i want to use a proxserver to connect with a .NET Webservice. But everytime I get the 407 Error 'Proxy authentication required'.
I attached my code, where you can see that i try to solve my problem by using the Proxy Object of my Webservice instance and additionally use the GlobalProxySelection Object:
WebProxy myProxy = new WebProxy(myProxyAdress);
myWebservice.Proxy = myProxy;
myWebservice.PreAuthenticate = true; // do not know if this is necassary
System.Net.ICredentials credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(this.proxyUser, this.proxyPWD,
this.domain);
//here i set the credential of my webservice instance, which i mean is not necessary.
myWebservice.Credentials = credentials;
//here i set the credentials of the Proxy Object of my Webserive Instance.
myWebservice.Proxy.Credentials = credentials;
further I tried the following Code:
GlobalProxySelection.Select = new WebProxy(myProxyAdress);
System.Net.ICredentials credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential(this.proxyUser, this.proxyPWD,
this.domain);
GlobalProxySelection.Select.Credentials = credentials;
Both examples result in the 407 error, while the same Code on a Win32 plattform still works.
May someone help me, I realy get confused about this problem.
Thx in advance.

Hello !
I heve a SDI application (so, NO dialog box !) and when I 'open' the keyboard and press the Enter key, the program exits. I use 3 view classes that are managed by the CMainFrame class.
How can I solve the problem ?
Thanks

Are you using the document / view architecture?

So, instead of a smart minimize button (x) you have an (ok) button, right? This may be what is causing the unwanted behavior.

Hum... In fact it has been removed in the OnCreate function from the CMainFrame class:
ModifyStyle(0, WS_MINIMIZEBOX, SWP_NOSIZE);<br />
SHDoneButton(this->m_hWnd, SHDB_HIDE);<br />
But, ok, the behaviour is still there. So maybe I will need to override the OnChar method so that it doesn't call OnChar from base class when the key pressed is Enter... I hope it will solve the problem.
Thanks for your help

Hi,
I am developing an app on ppc2003 and i face some problems. I need to have at least 2 background processes that access the IR and BT port for serial comms. furthermore, the application is controlled by the main window and it has to terminate when the user presses stop and give a signal when the user clicks a button.
How do i go about doing this? is threads the best way out? and how do i start using threads. I am using MFC for my app.
Thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Hi,
you should use AfxBeginThread() function.
first,define your thread like this:
UINT TestThread(LPVOID lpvoid);
now,from the main dialog(which controls the threads) call the function
AfxBeginThread(TestThread,this);
now,the thread(let's say your main window class is CMainDlg):
UINT TestThread(LPVOID lpvoid)
{
CMainDlg *dlg = (CMainDlg *)lpvoid;
//All CMainDlg veriables are referenced throug dlg
while(!dlg->Exit)
{
//do something
}
return 1;
}
With best regards,
Eli
