What application generated the .DBF file?
..!!! I've seen the page you linked, correct question!
well, I'd like to read/write shapes'attributes (arcview shapefile attribute table file) and a sample project to start from, even in c# would be great.
cheers!

Your question really has nothing to do with VB.NET. Try posting your question in the ASP.NET[^] forum.

You'd have the exact same problem if you wrote your site in any language. What your asking is specific to the ASP.NET technology.

I'm trying to use OnBuildProjConfigDone.
In Macro IDE I clicked on my Macro project -> EnvironmentEvents then I selected OnBuildEvent and OnBuildProjConfigDone
I added the line as follows:
[CODE]
Private Sub BuildEvents_OnBuildProjConfigDone(ByVal Project As String, ByVal ProjectConfig As String, ByVal Platform As String, ByVal SolutionConfig As String, ByVal Success As Boolean) Handles BuildEvents.OnBuildProjConfigDone
MsgBox("I'm alive!")
End Sub
[/CODE]
But when I build any project no message pops up.
The same procedure for OnBuildDone, OnBuildProjConfigBegin and OnBuildBegin works as expected.
What's wrong ?
I need OnBuildProjConfigDone to test Success variable.
Is there another way to test a succesful build within OnBuildDone ?
Thanks.

I've never written an extension for the IDE, but after about 5 minutes of research on MSDN, it looks like you can check the DTE.Solution.SolutionBuild.LastBuildInfo() property, in your OnBuildDone event handler, to see how many of the projects in the current Solution failed to build properly.

Yes, you're right! It works perfectly.
Unfortunatly I found out that OnBuildDone is fired one time after all project have been build. I need an event fired at the end of each project build.
I really don't understand why OnBuildProjConfigDone does not work. It exists exacly for that purpose.

is there a VB6 function that does numerical differentiation??
|
|
|
|

No. You'll have to find a Math library that supplies the functions you want or write them yourself. No, I don't know of any... try Google.

I want to connect datagrid with a datareader.
dim dr as datareader
--
---
datagrid1.datasource = dr
it is not working...
A sample code will be more helpful.
Thanks

You can't do that. If you read the docs for the DataSource[^] property, you'll find that it works with any DataTable, DataView, DataSet, or DataViewManager objects, or any object that implements the IListSource or IList interfaces. DataReader is not one of them.
You use the DataReader object to fill a DataSet, then you can bind the DataSet to the DataGrid as a DataSource.

check the code I inserted (bold line) You declare the datareader, and you set the data grid source to that, but you never assign any data to the data reader. Hope this helps!
dim dr as datareader
dr=datasource (from spreadsheet, or database, or whatever)
datagrid1.datasource = dr

Hi,
I am trying to read a formatted data file using streaReader from a simple project which has three forms. When I type the statement, it says variable (streamReader) not defined. Imports system.io statement is there in first form code. I would appreciate any clues.
Thanks

You should import system.io in each form on which you going to create object for streamreader...

Since you only imported the System.Io namespace on the first form, you can only use it's classes on the first form. If you want to use the StreamReader class on you 2nd and 3rd forms, each of them will also have to import the System.Io namespace.

I have two forms.Clicling the button on form 1 Leads to Form 2 by hiding Form 1.I have submit (button) and Cancel(button) on Form2.When I hit Cancel.Form2 needs to be closed and open form1.Any help will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

|

On the cancel button you should use the following code:
unload me
form1.show
this code will unload the form2 and show the form1.
You can use the same code on the form1 when u shifts from form1 to form2. you will only change form2.show.
|
|
|
|
|
It says "unload me" not declared.Can you tell me what I am supposed to do?
Thanks,
|
|
|
|
|
It could be because "unload me" is VB6 syntax...
You might just want to try "me.hide" to hide a form.
Hope this helps,
Mitch

form2.hide/form1.show (or the reverse - depending on which one you want visible), or you can use the visible property
form1.visible = true
form2.visible = false
Note that these do not clear the forms from memory, just make them invisible to the end user at runtime
