In not an expert in Word but... The newest version of Word actually has an option to save in XML format. Images are probably encoded base64. Google for Word 2003 XML.

Word 2003 has the option to save as wordprocessingML, and they have the schema published in the msdn office section, along with some tools to generate xsl files to use templates. Googling on wordprocessingML returns a number of results as well. Images are embedded as base64 chunks or SVG format.

Smartphones - kind of like a PPC but smaller andmore of a phone most are currently running windows mobile 2003 (soon they'll be running "magneto" Oooh!)
Okay here are a few simple questions...
1)Can i use C# to program for a smartphone?
If no you may as well just stop here (i dont see any reason why it would be 'no' though)
2)Is it exactly the same as programming for a PC? Can i use the same code i would for a windows form for example? (set to the right size of course - 176*200).
3) What can i use to compile the code, and is it free?
(If it isnt free what is?)
Thanks for any help at all

1) Yes. From Visual Studio, File->New->Project->Smart Device Projects->Smartphone Application.
2) No. Instead of using the .NET framework, you must use the .NET Compact framework. It's a slimmed down version of what you normally code with. Your Windows Forms code won't work; you have to use the Compact Framework's version of Windows Forms.
3) I'd recommend MS Visual Studio, which isn't free, SharpDevelop (free & open source), or any of Borland's .NET offerings.

Dear everyone,
I am creating IE Toolbar and I want to make it show up as default like Yahoo toolbar. I am encounting problem for this setting. Now I have created the toolbar, but after installation the user will have to config it as "display" manually by clicking mouse and selecting it.
To create IE toolbar, see Pavel Zolnikov 's article http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/dotnetbandobjects.asp
and vadaa's article
http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/IE_Advanced_Toolbar.asp
They are great codes.

U mean implementing the "netsend" command through C#?
Or u just wanna use netsend? If this is the case, fire up a command window n type:
NET SEND
and it will show you the basic syntax for the command (on Win XP). I am not sure, but I think older WIndows version (e.g. Windows'98) don't support netsend through the command window, they have a GUI version instead.

Polis
Can you practice what you teach?

Hi,
I'm experimenting with C# to remotely interact with another app. In particular I want to send a WM_MOUSEDOWN event at a specific location in the remote apps window. Can anyone help with the syntax of Win32.PostMessage ? (What is IntPtr?)
Thanks

Your server would surely have some sort of an Accept() method that returns a Socket? You just use that Socket's RemoteEndPoint property

I have achived to read control from XML file create it dynamically.
Problem is I have to define hundreds of controls, is there any tool avalable to convert Controls(like textbox, button, ComboBox,..etc) in to xml file.
I mean to say properties of Control should be the attributes of a Control element in XML file.
Please help me in this regard ASAP.

Why dont you create serializable versions of the controls you need and simply push them through an XMLSerializer?
Cheers

Hi!
First- sorry for the stupid subject... I just could't find something, that covers my question in a few simple words
I'm writing a little application, where I want to be noticed, when the mouse leaves my window.
Because the window has no border, is non-rectangular (drawn vie GDI+) and nearly completly covered with controls (only a little circle right in the middle can be seen), I am not sure what is the best way of achieving this.
First, I could just look at the mouseMove event and check everytime if it left the region of my window...
I don't like that one much...
My second thought was to put something (an invisible control) on top of all controls- but this something has to let through all interactions with the other controls.
What is the best way to do this?
Second problem, perhaps it can be done with in the same way as the first- I need a hotspot on a button (again, shaped via GDI+), that fires an event if the mouse enters a sub-area of the button.
Can someone help me?
Thanks
Dirk
