Is there any utility which converts VC++ code to C# code. I do not expect all conversions basic conversion will do such as class, property, method migration.
Thanks

I don't see how it could exist. Unless you were talking about converting Managed C++ code to C#. But unmanaged code to C#? I don't see how it could possibly work. Just mapping the MCF classes and code to .NET Framework classes would be nightmare.
You can check out this[^] discussion of the very topic on a MSDN Blog.

OK, what is wrong with this property definition in a control? In the properties list the little empty box displays next to the name and the dot-dot-dot button works correctly, but when I select a file nothing is every filled-in and the resource is not serialized in the InitializeComponent() call. I suspect it is a serialization issue but I have tried both Visible and Content to no effect.
[
CategoryAttribute("Appearance"),
DescriptionAttribute("Image that appears when control is down."),
BrowsableAttribute(true),
EditorAttribute("System.Drawing.Design.ImageEditor, System.Design",typeof(UITypeEditor)), DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Visible),
TypeConverter(typeof(System.Drawing.Bitmap)),
DefaultValueAttribute(null)
]
public Bitmap ImageDown
{
get
{
return null;
}
set
{
_imageDown = (Bitmap)value;
}
}
|

No wonder your Bitmap is empty - you always return null...
I guess changing
get
{
return null;
} into
get
{
return _imageDown;
} could do the trick.

hello.
i am trying to creat a server/clients application and i want the server to hold an object and the clients to recive references to that object. (so far easy)
but i also want to do databinding on some of the propertyes so when someone changes a property the other clients will see the change live...
i tryed treating the remote object as an ordnary object and creat databinding but it didnt work..
is it even posible?
can any one here give me an example of how to do it?

As far as I know, this isn't possible to do with remoting. Cool idea, but consider that every client should have a unique instance of the object on the server. So they're all separate entities.
I have a very similar issue with a client and we had to write some custom code that updates the server with the value change (we're not using data binding at all), and then it notifies the other clients of value changes. But to do this, we wrap the value with some additional information and the whole mechanism handles not only discrete updates but also updates to things like DataTable objects, without resending the whole DataTable.
In essence, you're going to have to create an architecture that supports this functionality.

thats bad
i realy dont want to rewrite the whole functionality of databinding.
i will try to ask microsoft using my frind's msdn subscription.
maybe it works in VS2005? if so i will probebly move to it.
i even tryed to creat a PROPERTYWARPER
just like an event warper needed to rase events with remoting..
in this case i could do the subscribing to databinding. but the data was not updating

Hi, I need a simple gaphic library which enables me to make the picture (PictureBox?) become visible and invisible in different ways - fading away, emerging pixel by pixel and so on. Does anybody know such library? I need it as a part of my project. Thanks!

Hi.
How can I change the calendar display from my regional culture without setting from the regional setting. I 'd like to change form thai calendar to Eng US calendar by using code. How can I code with C#.
thanks . . .

Hi!
You should be able to assign a culture by using the Thread.CurrentCulture property.
For example:
Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = new CultureInfo("de-DE"); Regards,

thank you very much but which property of the datetimepicker can work with system.globolization?
|
|
|
|
|
You don't have to set the culture for every control separately.
You set it for a thread and each control running in this thread will/should use this cultureinfo.

Is there a way of blocking Pop-ups using JavaScript in the axBrowser Com. ?
Is it possible to insert the code, before the page is shown?
Thanks

You might want to ask in a differnt forum, this one is for C# only.

I believe the system.management.instrumentation namespace provides classes to instrument an application. For example, if an application is stopped, an event will occur to get it started....
The problem is how to i determine the idle or unstable state of an application?
Welcome any advice

Hmm. Do have a separate watchdog application or service? I guess you want to monitor several things--has the application completely crashed (disappeared from the process list), has it gone into some infinite loop where it's no longer handling UI events (maybe your app can respond to a ping from the watchdog app and fails to respond), is it responsive but consuming a huge amount of CPU time, etc.
Just some ideas.

I wonder if there is a built in attribute in system.management which can access the status of the application. So far i have looked into the win32_Process namespace in root/cimv2 in WMI which may have only started or stopped values for the status attribute. Or i will need an explicit timer to poll the application?

Hi everyone,
I am trying to learn how to use dynamic controls with/by calling a class library (ButtonTest.cs) that is on a separte *.cs, that contains the properties that will set them from my main form (frmMain.cs). I am using windows forms, C#. The two codes for the two forms are as follows:
>>frmMain.cs<< Calling form
using System;
using System.Drawing;
using System.Collections;
using System.Component.Model;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using System.Data;
namespace Test
{
public frmMain()
{
InitializeComponent( );
ButtonProperties myTest = new ButtonProperties();
myTest.AddControl(new Button( ), new Point(5,5), new Size(75,75), "ButtonName", 0, "");
}
}
>>ButtonTest.cs<<
using System;
namespace Test
{
class ButtonProperties
{
public void AddControl(Control aControl, Point Location, Size Size, String strText, int TabIndex, string strName);
{
aControl.Location = Location;
aControl..Size = Size;
aControl.Text = strText;
aControl.TabIndex = TabIndex;
aControl.Name = strName;
this.Controls.Add(aControl);
}
}
}
Now the problem is that the "this.Controls.Add(aContol);" does not get returned and the button is not displayed. The error is as follows: "Test.ButtonProperties" does not contain a definition for Controls. Hmmm
Any and all help is truly appreciated.

Try adding the following to ButtonTest.cs:
using System.Windows.Forms;
|
|
|
|
|
Hi!
Trust the compiler, it's right.
Your class Test.ButtonProperties only has a single method and no attributes/properties.
You're calling "this.Controls.Add(aControl)", but your "this" (ButtonProperties instance) doesn't have a Controls property.
Perhaps you want to add it or derive ButtonProperties from a base class that has a Controls property.

Can this be done with both a textbox and richtextbox?
If you could please give me an example code.
