I want to be able to change the html code at certains points in a aspx page using a code-behind page. For example:
<TD vAlign="bottom" align="left" colSpan="2" height="38">
<DIV align="right"><A href="signup.aspx"><IMG height="38" src="images/gen_header_r1_c1.gif" width="142" border="0"></A><A href="trips.aspx"><IMG height="38" src="images/gen_header_r1_c2.gif" width="133" border="0"></A><A href="guides.aspx"><IMG height="38" src="images/gen_header_r1_c3.gif" width="130" border="0"></A><A href="forums.aspx"><IMG height="38" src="images/gen_header_r1_c4.gif" width="135" border="0"></A><A href="products.aspx"><IMG height="38" src="images/gen_header_r1_c5.gif" width="122" border="0"></A><A href="invite.aspx"><IMG height="38" src="images/gen_header_r1_c6.gif" width="126" border="0"></A></DIV></TD>
I want to be to do this:
<TD vAlign="bottom" align="left" colSpan="2" height="38"><DIV align="right">
<b>GET HTML CODE FROM CODE-BEHIND PAGE</b>
</DIV></TD>
Any help of in the right direction would be appreciated.
Thanks

You can just put:
<td vAlign="bottom" align="left" colSpan="2" height="38">
<%=SomeMethod()%>
</td>
and in your code behind have:
public string SomeMethod()
{
return "this is a text that is dynamically generated";
}

There's a few CP articles you can look at. Search google with:
rubberband C# site:codeproject.com
and you'll find more.
Here's one.[^]
A more complicated one.[^]
The second one, while not on the topic you are asking about, includes: "drawing rectangles with a rubberbanding like effect in Paintbrush" and perusing the code should get you on the right track.

I'm looking for a C# program that prompts the user for an hourly rate and the number of hours worked. It should compute the gross pay rate, withholding tax and net pay. The withholding tax is computed as a percentage of gross pay based on:
Gross Pay <or= 300="" is="" 10%="" withholding
gross="" pay=""> 300 is 12% withholding
Please can any one let me know if they have a C# program for this

This is a 5 minute exercise using the Visual Studio designer. But I guess it must quite the stumper of a homework problem, eh?

I'd like to know how I can delete multiple selected items from a listbox?
Thanks.
Best regards.

One at a time?
Of course, the guru part of me insists on providing a more complete answer. Delete from the last index to the first, so the indexes of the items don't have to be recalcuated when you delete items from the list.

Hi Bouli,
This should do it...
void Button1Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
for (int i=0; i < listBox1.Items.Count; i++)
{
if (listBox1.SelectedIndices.Contains(i))
{
listBox1.Items.RemoveAt(i);
i--;
}
}
}
Hope it helps,
Gary Perkin.
PS On reflection, Marc Clifton's suggestion to count backwards is probably neater than my i--

it works just fine

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to have a control that is automatically updated when the user changes a directory that that control represents. This is similar to a folder browser dialog but instead it's inside a form rather than a separate control.
Thanks

My computer finally got faster...I threw it out the window and it went very fast.

Look at System.IO.FileSystemWatcher.
This class exposes events that will let you know when certain file system changes have happened. This is exactly what Folder Browser Dialog uses (under the covers).

Hi RH2K3
This sounds interesting, but I think your spec needs a bit of work;)
Can you expand on "a control that is automatically updated" and "inside a form rather than a separate control" ?

I heard off somebody here that i could use C# to make DOS apps (Though it would be limited)
And i was wondering, what compiler compiles C# into a 16-bit DOS app. instead of a standard windows app?

err don't you mean "Console" type project?

No compiler I know about do that. All compile C# to IL.

Err. No i know how to make console app. but i wanted something that would run in DOS, console app dont work in DOS (they need to be compiled for use with DOS using something like Turbo C++ - but of course thats for C++)

It's easy then. You must have .NET Framework for C# apps. IMO .NET Framework is for Win2k and newer, definitely not for DOS. There is way how to pre-compile app to machine code, but that's for faster startup only (I think) - NGen[^]

Actually the .NET Framework works with everything since Windows 98 (just not 95), but still, not in old regular MS-DOS.

I'm afraid you are out of luck Undefeated. .NET requires the underlying OS to able to be 32-bit capable. DOS on the other hand is only 16-bit capable hence .NET will not be able to run on it. Sorry...

someone could have written its own ompiler ^o^
that compile C# CLR for DOS with customized functions

Dear,
Thank you for reading this question, please help me out if you can.
I got a paradox table without primary key, now I am trying to insert data into it, but keep getting an error: "Operation must use updateable query". Now after doing some readings, I found that it is because the table doesnt have a primary key, and the suggestion was to create a primary key for the datatable...
Now how do i do that? I also try to use the InsertCommand, but doesn't know how it works.. if someone could please explain this to me.. like how it works, and when it get triggered..etc
thank you.
