I’ve mad an application (or apart of an app) in C++ that I’d like to use in .NET C# Windows Application.
The thing I like to accomplish is to build some kind of component of my existing C++ app and expose some functions that I later can call from the C# app.
The application I like to encapsulate can be seen ass a window (MFC CWnd in ny case).
My fist question is if this is possible? If, then my second Q is How..?
I’ve made som COM and ActiveX programming so I’m not totally new in this topic, but I really don’t where to start.
I’m not expecting a total solution of my problem but Ideas where to start would be great.
Articles about this would be great. (Have not found any of them myself…)

Hi Friends,
I have developed the application compatible for Windows 2000, XP and 98. While running the application in windows 98, i have tried to resize the window. At that time i got the exception like "Stock Overflow". But i am not get the error in Windows 2000 and XP.
Please help me to resolve the issue in Win98.
Regards,
Pandi

"Stock overflow" ?? Do you develop some financial application?? I think this is "Stack overflow" no ?
Seriously, these kind of errors happen for example when there is a endless recursive loop. The same function get called over and over until there is not stack memory left to save the current status of the program.
When does this error occurs ? I mean, this is not because you are resizing the window but probably the program is doing something wrong at this time...

Are you calling SetWindowPos() or MoveWindow() from inside your WM_SIZE handler?

Hi Ryan,
Yes , I am calling SetWindowPos() in WM_SIZE handler.
|
|
|
|
|
Ok, but that's your problem then. You go into a kind of infinite recursion: calling SetWindowPos will send the WM_SIZE message to the windows thus, this will call SetWindowPos thus, this will send WM_SIZE, ... (I think you have understood).
Remove the SetWindowPos call in the WM_SIZE handler and your problem will be solved. If you need to 'lock' your window for example, there are better solutions...

Are the dialog boxes modal or non-modal ? Do you mean that you have a first dialog box that opens the second one, something like that ? If yes, if you want to 'send' data from the parent dialog to the child dialog, you'll have to add member functions in the child dialog that will be called before DoModal is called.
Ok, the answer is quite unprecise but your question is not really clear, so if it is not what you are looking for, give us some more details

I’m about to insert a Win32 window in a CWnd (or more specific an COleControl). I’m an old MFC-coder and not really good att Win32 API. After what I understand I should take care of the HWND instance of CWnd…
How do I make the sole Win32 window to stretch over my CWnd… ?

hi all
i have a console app sample .in the code there is a class that must run with the main thread .it does it with the command" class CCall" in the .H file of the app (CCall is the name of the class ).how can i do the same in an mfc app?

In which language do you program ??
Ok seriously, it is really really difficult to understand what you are trying to say... Do you mean you have a class, and in this class you have a member function which takes a long time to process ? Am I right ??
If yes, you can start a new thread and call this function in the new thread so the user interface of your application won't freeze...
If not, then try to formulate more specifically your question. For example sentence like "it does it with the command" class CCall" in the .H file of the app " doesn't mean anything. A class is not a command...

Hello,
Do somebody know how to retrieve the bounds of an List Control item in Large Icons mode (using the style LVS_ICON)?
The control offers the method GetItemRect(), which has the options:
- LVIR_BOUNDS
- LVIR_ICON
- LVIR_LABEL
- LVIR_SELECTBOUNDS
I expected, that the option LVIR_BOUNDS should return the whole item rect, but it doesn't. It returns the smallest rectangle, bounding the icon and the current label text. The same results I get by LVIR_SELECTBOUNDS.
There is another method - GetSubItemRect() - but it works only for list controls in LVS_REPORT mode.
Thanks in advance,
Plamen

I think you want to read in the standard cosole.
If I am correct, then u can do this by simply open a socket at port no. 512.
anything u write would be sent to standard console for output and anything that is typed at the console would be available for u to read on the socket.
512 is a port that open to the standard console.

1. 512 is 'rexec' port.It executes single commands non-interactively.
2. I dont want to use any builtin remote cmd execution service/prog.
3. I want to code an interactive telnet server.
